Some classic horror characters, including Michael Myers and more bust out a dance in honor of spooky season. Throughout the years, several horror villains have become iconic parts of Halloween culture. These include several masked killers, including the Halloween franchise's Michael Myers, and Scream's Ghostface. In recent years, there have also been modern reboots of many of the classic horror franchises from the late 20th century, making for an even bigger resurgence of some of these villains. For example, Scream 7 is currently in development, and will see the return of Neve Campbell.
Now, @michaelslayersofficial has posted a new video that shows three iconic horror villains dancing. These horror antagonists include Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, and Ghostface. In the video, three people are dressed as these villains, and they are dancing along to a routine choreographed to the tune of Harry Belafonte's "Jump in the Line." The Michael Myers actor is even wearing high heels to complete this dance. As the three killers dance, an actor playing one of their potential victims gives a shocked expression as the horror icons dance around light posts.
What This Dance Video Shows About These Villains
These Villains Have Become Cultural Icons
This video is perhaps one of the goofiest imaginings of Michael Myers, Ghostface, and Freddy Krueger. In their respective franchises, the trio are known to be sinister killers. This video, however, sees the group refining their dance steps and terrifying a victim not through slasher horror, but through the disconcerting nature of killers taking a break from homicide to synchronize steps. Beyond being amusing, the dance is also well-choreographed and the video is well-shot, providing many different angles of the villains.

Scream 7: Release Date, Cast, Story & Everything We Know
Despite a slew of behind-the-scenes issue, Scream 7 is on the way with Neve Campbell returning to her familiar role as Sydney Prescott.
Furthermore, seeing a video like this helps show the extent to which these horror villains have become wrapped up in the cultural zeitgeist. At this point, Michael Myers is just about as ubiquitous of a Halloween symbol as a generic pumpkin or a witch. They are fairly immediately recognizable, and so, even though they do have in-universe victims as well as specific stories ascribed to them, they serve to be symbolically spooky as much as anything.
What Modern Horror Villain Could Become This Iconic?
There Are Some Strong Contenders
As I look at these pre-2000 antagonists dance to Belafonte, I wonder what modern-day horror villains could at once reach this iconic and recognizable status. A prime candidate might be M3GAN, whose in-universe dance moves can be replicated in videos like this, and whose storyline goes along with the trend of increasing interest in AI on screen. Another contender might be The Babadook, a villain with a memorable visage who has already reached cult classic status. As time progresses, it will be interesting to see which current horror villains could become the new Michael Myers in of clout.
