Could Michael Fassbender Ever Return As Magneto?

The MCU Could Make It Happen

While Fassbender seems okay with moving on from the role after the end of Fox's X-Men franchise, the MCU could provide a few ways for the actor to return as Magneto. Marvel's Multiverse Saga is the main option to bring in Fassbender as the X-Men villain, either as his version of the character from Fox's X-Men movies or a variant from the multiverse. The first movie that could see him return is Deadpool 3.

The Deadpool franchise started in Fox's X-Men universe before moving over to the MCU for Deadpool 3. The Marvel movie will feature not only Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool and returning characters from his previous two movies but also Jackman's Wolverine, Jennifer Garner's Elektra, and possibly several rumored Fox Marvel characters. Due to the multiverse nature of the movie and recent Deadpool 3 set photos showing another possible Fox Marvel return, Fassbender's Magneto could appear in the movie for a cameo role.

With the Multiverse Saga set to conclude in Avengers: Secret Wars, that movie should bring many MCU and multiverse characters together. As one of the most popular characters from Fox's X-Men franchise, Fassbender's Magneto should be strongly considered to play a role in what is expected to be the biggest MCU movie ever. Besides those two movies, while the Multiverse Saga continues, Fassbender could always play his Magneto or a variant in a movie. Based on his popularity, the actor could also be considered to play the main Magneto of the MCU when Marvel introduces its version of the X-Men.
