From Deku to Katsuki Bakugo, My Hero Academia's cast of characters is so large and unusual that every character is someone's favorite. That means some fans are going to be elated - and some broken-hearted - as My Hero Academia assigns them a character based on their zodiac sign.

A zodiac sign refers to the position of the Sun and other planets in relation to the Earth on the day and time a person is born. Some believe that by studying the behaviors and attitudes of people born under a specific sign, a common (if imperfect) set of common characteristics can be asserted. For instance, people born under the sign of Libra, which is depicted by the symbol of a traditional scale, are seen as more concerned with balance, harmony, peace, and justice in the world. My Hero Academia's choice of characters is therefore a commentary on their own personalities and why fans connect with different characters.

In of comics and manga where the understanding of a character's impulses is often overshadowed by action, knowing their zodiac sign provides a fun and easy way to know more about them without the need for an author to dig into their psyche. This point is especially relevant in a manga such as My Hero Academia where the large size of the cast makes it difficult, if not impossible, to give every character a story arc that's all about their inner lifer. Thankfully, My Hero Academia's official Twitter has made this easy with an official rundown of which character represents each zodiac sign.

For instance, the list reveals that Deku is a Cancer. What can be understood about people born under the sign of Cancer is that they have a deep connection to family, and friends they consider family. This connection runs deeper than any other sign and is often expressed in a strong devotion to their family and close friends, and a willingness to do whatever is necessary to ensure that their loved ones are protected and taken care of. This devotion can, at times, develop into a feeling that they are responsible for the well-being of others and an attitude of forcing their loved ones into acting in a way that they, the Cancer, feels is best for them. This perfectly encapsulates Deku, who recently went on the run to draw out All For One, and had to be forced to accept his friends' help because he felt he was putting them in danger.

This description is an exceptionally accurate profile of Deku. As one of the most caring of Class 1-A, he is often the first person in, and the last person out of any situation where others are in harm's way. Always willing to put himself in danger if that would decrease the risk for others. He can also often be found lecturing others on what he thinks they should do to better themselves.

Other assignments - like the hot-headed Taurus Bakugo and the mysterious and determined Scorpio Shōta Aizawa - are similarly dead on, meaning that many fans are likely to be elated to find they've been given an accurate match. Others, of course, won't be so lucky, but with so many My Hero Academia characters still to choose from, they can at least comfort themselves with the knowledge that anyone not mentioned is still fair game for speculation.
