The Glodell boss fight in Metaphor: ReFantazio is level 38 and will happen during the Infiltrate the Charadrius Quest. This is an interesting fight, as there are some restrictions that will make this boss harder than it otherwise would be. You will, however, receive a fair amount of EXP and Money for the fight, as well as a spoil that can be a crafting ingredient to improve upon the stats of one of your party .
Beating a boss in Metaphor: ReFantazio can take a lot of forethought and patience, depending on which boss it is. It can take a fair amount of effort particularly if your party can take massive debuffs from their abilities. However, with Glodell, you will have to think your Archetype out before going into the fight, as players will be limited to a restricted party.
Best Party Combo To Beat Glodell
Limited Party & Archetype Options
You do not have much choice for this fight. You will be limited in party to just the protagonist and Junah, which turns this fight into a 2v2 against the combination of Glodell and his hound Hector. This means that choosing the right Archetypes for your party is even more important than ever, given that your choices are slim.

Metaphor ReFantazio: How To Unlock Royal Embodiments
Royal Embodiments are the pinnacle of a party member's Archetype in Metaphor: ReFantazio, manifesting once you have fully bonded with a character.
For this fight, choose:
- Protagonist - Wizard Archetype
- Junah - Masked Dancer Archetype
You could also choose the Mage Archetype for the protagonist if you so choose, but you want something that will let you deal elemental damage, so that you can fight both Glodell and Hector fairly well. You do not have a choice for Junah, as this is a story beat where she unlocks the Masked Dancer Archetype for herself.
How To Defeat Glodell & Hector
The Right Damage For Each Enemy
Earlier in the game, you will have to make the choice of whether or not to help Glodell in a different fight. While it may seem like that choice will affect this fight, it does not. You will be forced to engage Glodell either way as he is holding Junah hostage. At first, it will just be you versus the boss, but as this is a story beat you will soon have Junah on your side to help you defeat him.
Once the fight begins, you will have to make a different choice about how to use your attacks. Glodell will be constantly buffing Hector, who will be the main attacker. This can make the fight annoying, as his attacks can get more and more deadly over time, and you do not have the of the rest of your party. It is recommended that you focus on just one enemy at a time, as spreading out your damage just elongates the fight.
While the battle will end as soon as Glodell dies, focusing on him will allow Hector to get stronger and attack you for more. Therefore, it is recommended that you take out Hector first, before moving onto Glodell.
Glodell is not resistant to one specific element, but rather he is weak to fire damage. Meanwhile, Hector is weak to wind damage, which is where Junah’s new Archetype will come into play. Once you have finished off Hector, you will want to do as much fire damage as possible to Glodell.
For Hector, you will mostly want to use Junah’s Cyclo skill against him. The Protagonist should just hit him for as much damage as possible, but the Blizza or Kandera skills can do a fair amount of damage to Hector if you are looking for specifics. However, any kind of wind damage you can do will be the most productive and will hit for the most.
For Glodell, you can use Junah’s Hellfire Dance to make him even weaker to Fire Damage, before hitting him with Botra. Junah also has Infernal Vortex, and either one will help you finish off Glodell as soon as possible. If you want to see someone complete this fight, you can check out YouTuber Brandsaver to do so.
You will then get the Magician’s White Mask as one of the Spoils from this fight, which is normally worth 25,000 to buy. You can use it to make a number of different Masks, which makes it quite valuable. After that, you can continue on with your quest to free the prince from his curse and save the kingdom in Metaphor: ReFantazio.
