Meghann Fahy has had a very impressive past few years, from starring in The White Lotus to her more recent movie Drop, and Netflix's new series Sirens' cast alongside the talented performers Julianne Moore and Milly Alcock, as Fahy's Devon attempts to uncover the secrets behind her sister's wealthy employer. The series follows in the footsteps of other recent comedy dramas, using the calm facades of wealthy people and idyllic locations to explore various themes.
While Mike White's The White Lotus is arguably the most famous of these shows currently, there are numerous other Sirens has received positive reviews that highlight the performances and plot mysteries in particular, making it a great The White Lotus replacement.
Sirens Is Another Great The White Lotus Replacement After The Perfect Couple
Fahy Has Appeared In Multiple Comedy Drama Shows
Fahy appeared in season 2 of The White Lotus as Daphne, earning an Emmy nomination in the process. In 2024, Fahy appeared as Merritt in The Perfect Couple, another Netflix series of the same genre. After both of these shows, which center on the lives of their wealthy characters and the lengths that they will go to in order to maintain the status quo and hide their secrets, Sirens is the perfect follow-up. Fahy channels the same charming, though more rough-around-the-edges, energy that she carried through her past roles, making her a delight to watch.
As she continues digging into her sister's new lifestyle, Devon becomes increasingly concerned with Simone's boss and the secrets she is hiding.
Fahy's Devon is immediately and clearly at odds with Sirens' other characters. After being released from an overnight stay in jail, she leaves town in search of her sister, Simone, and finds her working for and living with the wife of a billionaire, Michaela Kell. Everything at Michaela's house and the island the Kells live on is perfectly manicured, and the people are all identically dressed in preppy styles and Lilly Pulitzer-like dresses. As she continues digging into her sister's new lifestyle, Devon becomes increasingly concerned with Simone's boss and the secrets she is hiding.
While there are some notable differences in the plots of The White Lotus and Sirens, they are thematically and visually similar in a lot of ways. The new series is arguably even more similar to Fahy's The Perfect Couple, as both shows examine the home lives of one specific rich family. The shows all juxtapose the ultra-wealthy, seemingly perfect outer appearance of their characters with their inner turmoil and dirty secrets, especially through the point of view of their less wealthy guests or employees.
Sirens Features Another Impressive Cast Like The White Lotus & The Perfect Couple
Sirens' Cast Is The Highlight Of The Miniseries
One of the best features that these shows all share is their great casts, and this is certainly by design. It takes a likable, talented actor to make these characters, who can often be unlikable and unrelatable, fun to watch and even at times sympathetic to viewers. Each season of The White Lotus has excelled at this, bringing on performers like Jennifer Coolidge, Connie Britton, Michael Imperioli, Aubrey Plaza, Parker Posey, Carrie Coon, and countless more across its three seasons.

Sirens Ending Explained: Why Simone Makes That Big Decision About Michaela & Peter
Sirens' ending sees Simone make a shocking choice about Michaela and Peter, but does that really make her the true monster of this Netflix story?
Meghann Fahy's 2024 miniseries, The Perfect Couple, also features an excellent cast, led by Nicole Kidman and Liev Schreiber, as the heads of their own wealthy, secretive family. Sirens is no different on this front. Beyond Fahy, who has already proven herself adept in similar comedy dramas, the series stars Julianne Moore as the sinister billionaire, Michaela, and Kevin Bacon as her husband, Peter. The two well-known actors perform their roles with flair and intrigue, keeping viewers guessing what they may be hiding.
Alcock and Fahy's scenes together are some of the best in the entire show.
Beyond the easily recognizable Moore and Bacon, Sirens also includes the younger actor Milly Alcock as Devon's sister Simone. At just 25-years-old, Alcock is already a rising star in her own right, having appeared in HBO's House of the Dragon as young Rhaenyra Targaryen and will be starring in the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Alcock and Fahy's scenes together are some of the best in the entire show. Despite Simone keeping her own secrets, both from her sister and her boss, Devon and Simone's sibling arguments provide some necessary humorous and raw moments to Sirens, rounding the series out.
