X-Men franchise star Fassbender said he had a good run as Magneto, but that might not be the end.
Speaking with future MCU movies, Fassbender thinks it really is about time, as he wants to be available to his family and is focused right now on his spy series, The Agency. However, he is "always open to things" and will "never say never" to a possible Magneto return. Check out the full quote below:
"Well, you know, I loved working with Hugh [Jackman]. You know, he’s an absolute gentleman; he’s so talented. I'm a big fan of Ryan [Reynolds] and what he’s done with the Deadpool series.
I’ve got two little boys. I want to be available to them and be around. So right now, my focus and energy is really going to be on The Agency, but you never say never."

Fassbender's positive comments about Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool make it seem like the actor would have a great time working with the MCU duo. The Magneto actor also left the door open for a possible return to his Marvel villain in the future, as long as the timing is right for him. That could end up not being a problem for the actor, as the MCU still has to put an end to its Multiverse Saga before properly debuting a new take on the mutants, which could feature an actor or two from Fox's X-Men.

Fassbender's main issue with possibly coming back as Magneto seems to be about having time with his family. The actor's new series, The Agency, is based on a French TV show that went on for five seasons. As such, the same could be repeated for Fassbender's spy series. Since the MCU's X-Men movie is three years away at the earliest, it is possible that Fassbender's The Agency will be nearing its end or will end just as the X-Men reboot comes out. Before then, the actor could make a cameo appearance in one of the next two Avengers movies.

Last year, the actor's comments about coming back as Magneto seemed to be final. However, Fassbender now sounds more open to a future return as the character as long as he gets enough time with his family. Based on the actor talking about Deadpool and Wolverine, I think that Deadpool & Wolverine's enormous success might have shown him that the MCU will do right by the X-Men. As such, I'm hopeful that Michael Fassbender will come back as Magneto. Based on his comments, a ing role in the Avengers movies is more likely than becoming the MCU's Magneto.
