The release of WandaVision has brought a new appreciation for the storytelling of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the couple of Scarlet Witch and The Vision has become a fan favorite. The two were well received before the TV series, but the show has skyrocketed their popularity.
With their adventures in WandaVision put into focus, fans have come up with memes that refer to the show’s events and the two protagonists in general. Some of these acknowledge the tragic premise of the show but take on a lighthearted point of view of things. Others simply dive in altogether over the comedy aspect are worth checking out in equal measures.
Warning: Spoilers may apply.
The Show Makes Fans Cry For Fun
In many ways, the relationship between Scarlet Witch and Vision has been exclusively that of pain as the two never have time to just be happy. This is referenced by this fan using a funny scene from Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which at least brings a lighthearted feel to this dynamic.
It was noted how Vision was funnier in WandaVision than he was in earlier appearances, which comes down to Scarlet Witch blending this version with her love for sitcoms. It’s pretty impressive how their relationship can be considered both comedic and heartbreaking, but that’s just how it goes.
That's One Way To Look At It
WandaVision brought another version of The Vision, with White Vision coming into activation by the show’s end. This has made this fan think that the situation is the same as seen in the meme stemming from ‘60s Spider-Man series.
The two Visions were set up for a big battle, only to end up having a battle of wits. While this was a great change from the norm, it has led to fans having fun at the expense of the idea of two Visions in general.
That Disney Parallel
There were a lot of finale, but hardly anyone would have predicted that they would see an Incredibles-reminiscent scene. This came to when Scarlet Witch and Vision teamed up with their children to become one big action family.
It may or may not have been the intention of the developers to have this kind of parallel, yet it turned out to be a pretty cool similarity that’s hard to miss once it comes to one’s notice.
Vision Tells It Like It Is
Scarlet Witch created the WandaVision version of Vision out of her brand of chaos magic, although Vision, in general, is someone crafted out of boyfriend material. There should be no questions about that after the TV series, as Vision was such a loving romantic interest.
As this tweet points out, any woman would be lucky to have Vision as a boyfriend, especially when he’s made out of that stuff. In a way, the entire WandaVision series can be considered a way of confirming that Scarlet Witch and Vision’s romance was just meant to be.
At Least She Got The Costume
Up until the end of WandaVision, knowledge about the costume of Scarlet Witch was something only comic book fans knew. With the MCU now incorporating it, this has now become popular for mainstream fans as well.
If Wanda wants a silver lining, this tweet is the way to go as it claims that she can finally look forward to wearing this suit. Never mind the fact that she lost Vision, her children, and is on the run again, getting the suit might be the best news.
Wanda Still Cares
The TV series left fans with several questions to ponder over, but at least it’s confirmed that Scarlet Witch is someone who cares about the world. After all, who else would take the time to quarantine themselves when they’ve got magical powers.
At the end of WandaVision, she took off to a distant place where she made sure to stay in isolation, perhaps out of Covid-19 concern. This fan certainly thinks this might be the reason why, and it does paint Scarlet Witch in a more positive light.
So Much For That Mephisto Debut
The anticipation of this debut was such that fans had started to check up on Mephisto’s powers to find out more about him. This didn’t happen in WandaVision, prompting a fan to tweet this out and assume that Scarlet Witch and Vision knew they were being watched all along.
The joke is that the couple became aware that the audience was watching them, with Scarlet Witch claiming that viewers were Mephisto. Considering fans got to check out Scarlet Witch and Vision as parents in a fantasy setting, maybe the lack of Mephisto wasn’t so bad after all.
Learn To Stand Straight, Wanda!
The characters in the MCU all have certain mannerisms that one associates them with, and Scarlet Witch’s various movements have made her a favorite for creators of memes. This one points out the frequency with which she tilts herself back.
This has come to the point where it’s impossible to ignore anymore, especially since she’s displayed this tendency across both film and television. Maybe someone should heed T’Challa’s command on this one and get her a spine for her to stand straight.
Wanda Isn't Helpful
WandaVision had so many genres included that even similar non-MCU shows are worth a watch. However, not many will feature a protagonist as lethargic as Scarlet Witch was in the early episodes, as she refused to help or be helped for quite some time.
According to this tweet, Wanda was channeling the same energy as SpongeBob Squarepants does, in that there wasn’t much energy, to begin with. Of course, it turned out the government itself weren’t the good guys, but this meme certainly stands true for more than half the season.
That Pretty Much Sums It Up
If Scarlet Witch had been on social media, chances are she might have posted something such as this. What’s funny is that it would have made the entire events of WandaVision unnecessary as people would only have to check her status to understand what was going on.
Then again, she didn’t actually have Vision in the trunk as viewers were led to believe until the last episodes so this post could be the work of S.W.O.R.D. Director Hayward to discredit her.
