Now that the MCU is diversifying its projects, they finally have the potential to create their own Earth-616 Illuminati, so here are some cast predictions. With the help of Black Panther, Iron Man formed the group after the Kree-Skrull War when Tony Stark realized much could've been prevented if the supergroups communicated. So the exclusive group formed and began secretly making decisions on behalf of humanity. Brian Michael Bendis, writer of "Avengers: The Illuminati mini-series," said, "They are the power brokers of the Marvel Universe. They all represent something very sincere and they all benefit greatly." (via CBR.com) The Illuminati had a short-lived appearance in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, but with Secret Invasion and other projects, the MCU could create their own version.
The original of the Illuminati were Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Professor X, Mr. Fantastic, Namor, and Black Bolt. While T'Challa aided in the groups founding, he chose not to . A large part of the Illuminati's origin is its diversity. Each member represented a different group and perspective. Iron Man represented the Avengers, Doctor Strange represented the mystic arts, Professor X represented mutants, Mr.Fantastic represented the Fantastic 4, Namor represented Atlantis, and Black Bolt represented Inhumans. Many of these characters are already in the MCU, but after Phase 6, they'll be able to create an Illuminati with just as much range.
Doctor Stephen Strange
Doctor Strange currently plays a large part in the MCU and is an original member of Marvel's Illuminati, so now that he's aware of the group's existence, after Multiverse of Madness, he may create an Earth-616 version. According to IMDb, Benedict Cumberbatch is set to reprise his role as Doctor Strange in Avengers: Secret Wars, in which the Illuminati play a large part. So the MCU will likely end Phase 6 with the Illuminati. In his interview, Bendis also said, "That's also an interesting aspect between him and how Dr. Strange uses his powers, so no one can fib." (via Doctor Strange uses his powers of telepathy to keep all Illuminati honest, and after Secret Invasion, the may have some trust issues.
Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers)
The Illuminati comprises Marvel's most influential and powerful heroes, and the MCU's Captain Marvel more than meets the requirements. She spends her time protecting other planets, so she likely has influence and allies across the universe. Danver's powers include superhuman strength, agility, speed, stamina, durability, flight, regenerative healing, and longevity. She also brings a unique perspective as she can help speak for not only from other planets but also The Marvels. Captain Marvel's involvement in the Kree-Skrull war and connection to Secret Invasion would be a great call-back to the Illuminati's comic book origins and could foreshadow her future involvement in the group.
Sersi
Sersi is the Prime Eternal, so she possesses great power and strength that can be useful for Earth-616's Illuminati. Some powers she has are superhuman strength, agility, speed, immortality, and, most importantly, matter manipulation. Her abilities are impressive, but her knowledge of the human race and comion are most needed in a group with large egos and overly logical individuals. Not to mention, Nate Moore, Marvel Studios producer, confirmed the Eternals would return to the MCU despite no Eternals sequel updates. Sersi ing the Illuminati by the end of phase 6 makes sense because of her connection to the Beyonders-- who set the events of Secret Wars in motion.
Namor (K'uk'ulkan)
If the MCU decides to make an Earth-616 version of the Illuminati, Namor will likely be included as one of the original and a new fan favorite. Namor speaks for the people of Talokan and wields an army of super-powered Talokanil. Namor has superhuman strength, speed, flight, and longevity like others in the group, but his perspective is useful. Namor is willing to take extreme measures to protect his people, unlike other Illuminati whose conscience clouds their judgment— he provides balance. Namor has a connection to Avengers: Secret Wars as well. In the comics, the Illuminati kick him out, but he res to help them defeat Doom.
Hank Pym
In the comics, Hank Pym is part of the Illuminati during Secret Wars, and he plays a prominent role in the events leading up to it as the one who discovers the Beyonders are behind the incursions and trying to destroy the multiverse. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania leads into Avengers: Kang Dynasty, which Avengers: Secret Wars is rumored to be connected to, and Pym is at the center of it all. No one can replace Iron Man, but his Pym tech and knowledge of science help fill that role. Also, his knowledge of the quantum realm is needed if Kang is going to replace Doom in Avengers: Secret Wars.
Reed Richards (Mr.Fantastic)
Another original member of Earth-616's Illuminati, Reed Richards, is essential to the group as one of the smartest people alive. Mr.Fantastic should make his debut in Phase 6 with Marvel's Fantastic 4. In Secret Wars, Richards helped build a life raft to withstand the end of the multiverse and escaped with whoever he could. Then, the raft landed on Battleworld, which Doom created after stealing power from the Beyonders. Perhaps, Reed will help the Illuminati make a similar raft at the end of Phase 6 in Avengers: Secret Wars and they will land in a realm created by Kang the Conqueror.
Professor X (Charles Xavier)
Professor X, like Doctor Strange, is needed to keep the Illuminati in check. The original Illuminati had Strange and Professor X use their powers to make sure no one lies, and both men must be in the group because they are the only ones who can keep each other honest. Professor X is also needed to represent the mutant side of supergroups since there is often tension between other supergroups and mutants due to their history of mistreatment. Professor X could make his Earth-616 debut now that Deadpool is part of the MCU, and Deadpool 3 could also set up Secret Wars by showing the result of an incursion.
All these characters will likely be around by Avengers: Secret Wars or, if they survive, after Phase 6. Each character prediction represents a different side of the MCU and offers a unique perspective, so a wide array of supergroups has a voice. If the MCU is going to introduce Earth-616's Illuminati by Phase 6, it will likely be in Avengers: Secret Wars and all of these characters have a connection to 2015's Secret Wars. The story is likely to change, but given the group's heavy influence in Secret Wars, the MCU should acknowledge Earth-616's Illuminati at the very least.
