Milo's Question About The Bus Tragedy Victims In Mayor Of Kingstown Season 3 Proved Mike's Issue

Women Were Always A Blind Spot For Mike

Mike made a point to highlight how Milo’s actions went past a point of no return because he bombed his mother’s funeral and pushed a busload of underage girls off the bridge only to hit Konstantin, to which Milo quipped, "What bothers you more, Mike? Their gender or their age?" Albeit entirely unsympathetic, Milo’s quip proved a point that Mayor of Kingstown made time and time again, as Mike either underestimated women or wanted to protect them and be their knight in shining armor.

Mike’s issue with women appeared repeatedly in Mayor of Kingstown season 3. Mike took Anna’s case because she reminded him of his mother, which consequently caused him to ignore the many warning signals that hinted at her willingness to kill her son’s murderer had Mike been unable to help. Similarly, Mike denied Iris’s agency when she wanted to help him with Konstantin, only agreeing to her mission because Iris forced his hand by going to Cavo alone without him knowing. Finally, Mike killed Milo because Milo highlighted how Mike was unable to protect Mariam and was the reason she died.

Mike's Question To Iris Hints He Acknowledged Her Agency

Mike Let Iris Choose What To Do With Konstantin

Milo already noticed Mike’s weakness in Mayor of Kingstown season 1, as he realized he couldn’t manipulate him by sending Iris to seduce him, but he was successful in doing so if he hurt Iris. Even the reason why Mike was pushed to become mayor following Mitch’s death in Mayor of Kingstown’s series premiere had something to do with a mother in difficulty who asked for the mayor’s help. Throughout the seasons, Mayor of Kingstown hinted at Mike’s issue, but no one called it out until Milo in Mayor of Kingstown season 3.

However, Mike’s choice as Milo and Konstantin pushed Iris to kill Konstantin may have hinted at his change of heart. While Milo only offered Iris two options, to die or do his bidding by killing Konstantin, Mike actually asked Iris what she wanted to do. While a small detail, it could suggest Mike understood his mistake, pointing to Mike finally facing his problem after Mayor of Kingstown season 3.
