Hellblade 2 Is One Of Xbox's Most Heavily Anticipated Exclusive Releases
Ninja Theory's Sequel Will Be Available On Game At Launch
Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is the follow-up to Ninja Theory's 2017 psychological horror game Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, and while the first title saw a multiplatform release, its sequel is one of Xbox's most heavily anticipated exclusives of 2024 after the series' developer, Ninja Theory was acquired for $117 million by Microsoft in 2018. Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 continues the story from the first game, as it delves deeper into the mind of Senua, as she journeys forward through a brutal gauntlet in which she faces new threats from Norse mythology while dealing with voices and hallucinations that stem from her psychosis.
Ninja Theory's Hellblade titles have been praised for their photorealistic visuals, taking from extensive motion and performance capture to make their characters and world look as realistic as possible. In of gameplay, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice balanced combat, environmental puzzles, and walking sim elements, but the trailers for Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 have tended to focus more on the revamped combat, with a greater variety of enemies, and faster, more intense encounters, with Senua's actress Melina Juergens training intensively for two years to make for some impressive-looking battles.
As with other first-party Xbox titles, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 will be available on Xbox Game upon its launch and can be pre-installed by subscribers now to guarantee immediate access on May 21.
