Warning: SPOILERS for Fantastic Four (2022) #6Hardcore Marvel Comics fans should know that Sue Storm, is one of the strongest superheroes in the entire Marvel Universe, but her true power is actually even more dangerous than anyone thought, leading to Susan being labeled as "a walking mass-extinction event" in a recent comic.
In Fantastic Four (2022) #6, by Ryan North, Ivan Fiorelli, and Jesus Aburtov, the team has to solve a potentially catastrophic problem that they created in the previous issue when they brought back to Earth a lethal bacterium from the Dark Dimension that threatens to destroy the planet's food chain. Luckily, the bacteria feed on light, so they can be killed by blocking the Sun's rays for 72 hours over the area they have contaminated, a feat that only Sue's powers can pull off. In the end, despite the protests of the people and the great effort required from Susan, the plan works, but the Fantastic Four have no time to celebrate. The U.S. government is scared by the Invisible Woman's ability to potentially end all life on the planet, and a task force led by Maria Hill shows up to arrest her.
Fantastic Four's Invisible Woman Could Destroy Earth
Hill says that, if the Invisible Woman is really able to "turn off the Sun, casually", she can be described as "a walking, talking, mass-extinction event". Obviously, Susan would never do that, but such a dangerous power cannot be left unchecked. After all, heroes can be manipulated, mind-controlled, and their powers stolen. Sue even has a history of split personality, which came in the form of the Invisible Woman's evil alter ego Malice. This was a manifestation of Susan's dark side triggered by Psycho-Man's powers, which has apparently been destroyed but there is no telling if it will ever emerge again.
Susan's Powers Are On A Completely Different Level
It's widely known that the Invisible Woman is the most powerful member of the Fantastic Four. Her ability to create and manipulate force fields has almost endless applications, and its only limit is Susan's strength of mind and endurance. Once, the Invisible Woman used this power to kill a Celestial, one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe, and it's been theorized that her powers could be connected to these mysterious creatures. Using Susan's powers to block sunlight over the entire planet Earth would be hard, but not impossible to do, which justifies describing her as a walking mass-extinction event.
There are many powerful characters in the Marvel Universe, but few have abilities on such a large scale that they can threaten entire planets. It has now been confirmed that the Fantastic Four's Invisible Woman is one of them, as her full powers could potentially end all life on Earth if she wanted.
