Following multiple delays, they are in the Iron Man suit, using VR technology to create the most immersive experience possible.

Originally slated for release in 2019, The Last of Us: Part II. Following the unexpected release of late-game story details for The Last of Us, that game was quickly given a new release date of June 19. The updated release date was seen by many as a response to the leaked spoilers.

Now, Iron Man VR has a new release date, as well. According to PlayStation's official Marvel's Avengers, Iron Man VR still commands a large degree of attention, particularly among fans of PlayStation VR, which remains one of the cheaper and more -friendly VR headsets on the market today.

Iron Man VR's new release date is sooner than many were expecting, considering the United States and many other countries are expected to still be dealing with coronavirus damage control throughout the summer months. It's possible that Sony is anticipating a high level of consumer demand for video games and other forms of digital entertainment during the season.

With The Last of Us: Part II, Ghost of Tsushima, and now Iron Man VR, Sony's first-party titles seem to have the summer months locked down in of keeping players engaged during this difficult and unprecedented time. Iron Man VR in particular, however, has a lot of potential to change the way fans feel about VR - much like Half-Life: Alyx did earlier - and has a relatively sparse launch window to compete with. If there's a time for Sony to get consumers into VR ahead of next-gen, this is probably the company's best - and perhaps last - shot to do so.
