A new Marvel's Avengers revealed Jane Foster Thor will be the title's next playable hero, and now her in-game appearance has been officially unveiled.
While the game has failed to maintain a loyal fanbase, Crystal Dynamics is determined to continue ing Marvel's Avengers. The title's next update will introduce Jane Foster, a love interest of Thor that became the Goddess of Thunder in the pages of Marvel Comics back in 2014. Dubbed the Mighty Thor, this version of the character quickly became popular and established herself as a superhero staple. Marvel's Avengers will reportedly give Jane Foster her own suite of powers and moves, though like her male counterpart she will wield Mjolnir and the power of lightning. Actress Zehra Fazal will voice Jane Foster in Marvel's Avengers, as revealed by a recent animated video that showcased the character's origins.
A new Marvel's Avengers blog post shows off several of the outfits that will be available for Jane Foster upon her introduction. The hero's default Iconic outfit shares much in common with the original Thor, though her helmet and armor is meant to look more aggressive. The Mighty outfit, meanwhile, strives to translate the character's original comic design directly into Marvel's Avengers. The Valkyrie outfit changes Jane Foster into an earthly agent of Asgard, with the hero wielding Undrjarn the All-Weapon rather than Mjolnir. Finally, the Thordis outfit is a throwback to a 1977 What If...? comic that saw Jane lift Mjolnir. These outfits will be available in-game, alongside Mighty Thor, starting June 28.
After adding Jane Foster next week, Marvel's Avengers will add a MODOK boss fight for players to tackle as multiplayer endgame content. The dastardly villain is the main antagonist of the game's single-player campaign, but he has yet to appear in the multiplayer portion of the game. Following Jane's arrival in the 2.5 update, Marvel's Avengers' 2.6 update will introduce a new Warzone and Omega Level Threat where players can have a rematch with MODOK. The Cloning Labs Omega Level Threat, in particular, will be designed to challenge max-level heroes.
Jane Foster Thor is a beloved member of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and soon Marvel's Avengers players will be able to fight AIM as the Goddess of Thunder. Crystal Dynamics has given Mighty Thor a unique godly design while also including a respectable wardrobe of comic-inspired alternate costumes. With her own suite of Asgardian powers and moves, the mighty Jane Foster Thor looks to be a worthy addition to the game's roster.
