Fans have their first official look at Uatu in Marvel's Iron Man came out in 2008, but the studio is starting to include more TV shows in their ever-growing cinematic universe. While several live-action TV shows are coming to Disney+, What If...? will be an animated take on the Marvel characters.
What If...">25 MCU actors will be voicing their characters for the animated series, but one new character that will be included in the show is Uatu the Watcher. Now, fans can get their first sneak peek at the new character.
In the featurette on Disney+ called Expanding the Universe, Marvel gave fans a sneak peek of some of their shows coming to the streaming service. One of these images was of Uatu, who will be voiced by Jeffrey Wright. The Watchers are an ancient species who observe events across the universe, and dimensions, to collect information. An image of Uatu the Watcher can be seen below:
What If...? won't be released until Summer 2021, but some of the alternate universe's storylines have already been revealed. Fans have gotten a sneak peek of She-Hulk are coming to Disney+ in the next few years, but What If...? is unique since it's animated and has the freedom of not directly connecting with the MCU.
The Watchers had appeared in the MCU before in Tales from the Crypt. Fans still have to wait a few years for What If...?, but this sneak peek at the Watcher should definitely keep fans anticipating the series' release.
