A recent Inner Demons gang leader Mister Negative.
This puts Octavius on a collision course with his current protégé Peter Parker, and while eagle-eyed players can spot a clue to Otto’s darker nature by playing around in Marvel’s Spider-Man’s Photo Mode, poor Peter is shocked and horrified at the eventual revelation that his idol is behind the Devil's Breath outbreak that is affecting New York in the latter half of the game. It all comes to a head in Marvel’s Spider-Man’s emotional final boss battle, that sees Spider-Man fight the newly-minted Doc Ock along the side of Oscorp Tower, and the aftermath of this confrontation and Otto’s larger machinations comes at a heavy price for the perpetually unlucky web-slinger. While Ock remains incarcerated at the supervillain prison The Raft during the events of 2020’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, he does appear in a flashback with Peter as a sobering reminder of how close the pair of scientists were before Otto’s fall from grace.
Gaming modder and YouTube the conclusion of Marvel’s Spider-Man. Jedijosh920's mod still has a few rough edges, as Ock defaults to the standard T-pose whenever he perches himself on a ledge, and his tentacles awkwardly stick out from his back whenever he web-swings, but for the most part it does a solid job in making the corrupted doctor playable.
This isn’t the first time that jedijosh920 used a mod to control one of Spidey’s enemies, as they previously posted a mod that reskinned the wisecracking web-slinger into the Marvel’s Spider-Man version of the Kingpin - complete with web-swinging and spider-enhanced agility. Jedijosh920 has also created a Marvel’s Spider-Man mod that adds the classic-style costume Peter wears at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, not too long after Insomniac brought the film’s Black-and-Gold and Integrated suits into the PS5 version of the game as free DLC.
Players have suggested that Doc Ock could return once more in the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, either to aid Peter and Miles in their battle against the newly formed Venom or even try to hijack Peter’s body like his comic counterpart did in the Superior Spider-Man storyline - though Peter’s use of his own Ock-style tentacles in the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 trailer hints at the former. In the meantime, it seems like the mad scientist is getting in plenty of practice for the latter thanks to jedijosh920’s latest Marvel’s Spider-Man mod.
