With the first season drawing to an end, Season 2 of Marvel Rivals is on the horizon, and you will want to know what to expect. There is not that much confirmed at the time, but as always, the rumor mill is going strong, and there are a lot of potential options out there. It will be exciting to see what will come for Marvel Rivals, and to see what new modes and events will come for this season.
Season 2 of Marvel Rivals is coming soon, and as it gets closer, we should also find out more about what's on the horizon. We knew about Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman in the week or so leading up to release, so it's likely to be a similar timeframe for this one. We will also get to see what the new Battle is like, and what costumes we should keep on the look out for.
When Marvel Rivals Season 2 Will Release
The Confirmed Release Date For Season 2 Is Here
We know that Season 2 will begin with two new characters, much like Season 1 did, and will be released on April 11, 2025. We don't yet have confirmation of the characters that are coming out, but people have already been speculating as to which ones will come first. There has also been various patches and updates announced, but none of them are directly related to Season 2 as of yet.

After Marvel Rivals' Producer Explains Why They Avoid Competitive Balance, I'm Convinced It's The Right Choice
An interview with a Marvel Rivals producer reveals the game's balancing philosophy, and it sounds like the right direction for the game.
The Season 1 Battle will come to a close on that day as well, meaning players have until then to clean up any last minute rewards they still want. There's still some amount of time to get it done, but the end of the Season is coming, and any content on the Battle will soon become legacy items.
Rumored Characters In Marvel Rivals Season 2
The Rumor Mill Is At It Again
Before Season 1, there were a few characters that already had leaks. This included Blade, Ultron, Captain Marvel, Modok, Jean Gray, Emma Frost, and Deadpool, none of which have actually been added to the game just yet. Blade and Ultron have been heavily teased, with Blade in the game as an NPC already and Ultron has appeared on merch that the other characters haven't. We know two characters are coming on the 11th, so Blade and Ultron could be strong contenders for that spot.
There has also been in-game references to the Hellfire Gala storyline from Marvel comics. This has led many to believe Emma Frost could the game soon. Otherwise, Jean Gray would make the most sense from the list of leaked characters. Other characters that have been rumored to the roster are:
- Angela
- Beast
- Colossus
- Crystal
- Cyclops
- Gambit
- Hit-Monkey
- The Hood
- Jia Jing
- Jubilee
- Locus
- Nightcrawler
- Professor X
- Paste Pot Pete
- Quicksilver
- Rogue
However, this list is a lot of speculation, and Season 1 set a precedent for two characters to be introduced at the beginning and a second set of two midseason. That may not continue to be the case, as it could just be two total for the whole season. Adding new characters too fast might not be healthy for the game, and the developers likely want to give players time to get used to new characters before releasing new ones.
What To Expect In Season 2 Of Marvel Rivals (Rumors & Confirmed Content)
Not Much Confirmed As Of Now
There's not much to go off of right now, beyond the hint to the Hellfire Gala in an announcement. If that is to be believed, it is likely we could see a map for either Krakoa or Mars (Planet Arakko). Hot Topic Merch featured Ultron, and more leaks have happened for Blade, Ultron, and Emma than any other characters. All of this could still be speculation, and given how long it's taken for many costumes from the Alpha version to make it into the game, it could be a long time before leaked characters are seen.

Marvel Rivals Players React To The New April Fool's Emote Breaking Their Brains
For April Fool's, a new twerking emote for Venom is available for a limited time in Marvel Rivals, which players can earn through in-game challenges.
The other big factor, in my opinion, could be Doctor Doom. There has been a large emphasis of him in many of the game's marketing materials, and he serves as a large antagonist throughout the game. He's also expected to make a big appearance in the MCU soon, just like the Fantastic Four, so it could be a very good time for him to become a playable character.
We will have to wait just a little longer to find out for sure what's coming to Marvel Rivals on April 11, and the rest of Season 2 for that matter, but when we do it is likely to make a good game even better.
