Another new game mode arrives in Marvel Rivals named Giant-Sized Hive Mind, a match type that combines two other modes from past events. In this mode, two teams of clones are randomly selected to fight against one another in Conquest matches. With huge heads for every character at the same time, this game type invites constant chaos for entertaining matches and different rewards.
Giant-Sized Hive Mind is an evolution of the Giant-Sized Brain Blast mode in Marvel Rivals, which saw characters compete in an alternate Conquest game type. During both modes, every hero has their head size increased, making them easier to hit with critical head shot attacks. This bobblehead-like appearance returns in Hive Mind, with some interesting twists to add to the wackiness.

Unlike some other modes, there are no limitations to how many friends you can have on your team before searching for a match.
How The Giant-Sized Hive Mind Event Works
Fight Teams Of Random Clones With Big Heads
Giant-Sized Hive Mind is a combination of Giant-Sized Brain Blast and Clone Rumble mode in Marvel Rivals. When you queue for a match in this new mode, you and your team must score more eliminations than an enemy team, using the big heads of every character to score more kills. This mode functions the same as Conquest, where you have to reach an elimination threshold first or get more kills than your enemies before a timer expires.

Marvel Rivals Mid-Season 2: All Character Buffs & Nerfs
A major update to Marvel Rivals early into Season 2 responded to community complaints, giving some characters strong buffs and nerfs through a patch.
When you start a match, two characters are randomly selected from the roster in the Gaint-Sized Hive Mind mode. Both teams can only choose between these two characters to create a team comp, without any input from individual players.
Unlike Clone Rumble, which Giant-Sized Hive Mind takes inspiration from, there are seemingly no limitations on which characters can be chosen randomly. For example, both teams can play as Adam Warlock or Loki, who were restricted from the Clone Rumble roster before.
Two teams can have multiple instances of characters, to create a team of clones who each use character abilities at the same time. Two teams of clones with big heads go against each other in a match, leading to chaotic exchanges that are as hilarious as they are frantic. The random element of character selection makes these matches far less predictable, with character synergies being impossible to form willingly.
You may have a team consisting of two different types of Strategists only, or nothing but Vanguards who struggle to survive during matches. The absurdity of random character selection makes every match memorable, including the best parts of Clone Rumble and Giant-Sized Brain Blast rolled into one.
As of this time of writing, it is unclear if any character can't be chosen from the roster at random for these matches. Given how some character abilities work, it is likely that Doctor Strange in Marvel Rivals may not be available due to how his portal ability would overload systems if used by multiple players at the same time. While this is only an example, there are other characters who could be barred from this unique competition.
Every Reward From The Giant-Sized Hive Mind Event
Gain Currency From Missions Or Rare Cosmetics From Past Modes
Unfortunately, it does not seem like the Giant-Sized Hive Mind mode has any unique rewards associated with it. As of this time of writing, there are no exclusive cosmetic rewards that come from playing matches of Giant-Sized Hive Mind. This could be due to how characters are selected randomly, making it hard for players to achieve different goals other than completing matches.
There is a chance that players can earn the "Brain Blast" Emote again during the Giant-Sized Hive Mind mode windows. This Emote, once earned during the Giant-Sized Brain Blast mode, can increase a character's head size as a unique cosmetic to use with specific heroes.
You may be able to earn different currency in Marvel Rivals through Hive Mind matches, through many of the straightforward missions you've already seen. Some of these may include:
- Completing a number of matches in Hive Mind
- Scoring enough eliminations against other characters
- Winning different matches in Hive Mind
- Getting a number of Assists or Healing
It's unlikely that any of the missions for Giant-Sized Hive Mind will be complex, but completing them could be an easy way to earn rewards through currency. Earning Chrono Tokens from this new game mode could be used to claim rewards from the Season 2 Battle , such as new character costumes. That being said, Units and Lattice will likely not be a part of any rewards offered through Hive Mind matches.

Marvel Rivals: How To Customize Costumes
A recent update for Marvel Rivals adds the ability to get new colors for existing skins on a few characters, allowing you to customize some costumes.
Keep in mind that matches in Giant-Sized Hive Mind may still advance proficiency with different characters you play as. While you don't have a choice as to what character(s) you might play, you can still complete proficiency quests during Hive Mind matches. Ranking up to Lord is much easier with characters by playing fast matches of Hive Mind, so don't be afraid to grind games for different milestones.
The hilarity from Hive Mind matches do not have concrete rewards, but they do offer a unique experience you won't find in other modes. When you participate in Giant-Sized Hive Mind mode in Marvel Rivals, you might find that it takes away the stress of highly coordinated matches you usually embark on in other match types.
