Marvel Rivals’ Clone Rumble event looks like an interesting and fun new challenge. This limited-time game mode launches today and will be a nice way to shake things up if you want a change from Rivals’ standard game modes. It also has some unique rewards for you to collect, including a new Black Widow skin.

Although Marvel Rivals’ team comp issues seem to be smoothing out if you’re still not happy with them, Clone Rumble presents a unique take on team building that might be more your speed. Based on the preview for the mode, it will also present opportunities to create some absurd situations thanks to its special team rules. Here’s everything you need to know to get started in Clone Rumble.

Clone Rumble Schedule

Clone Rumble Starts March 7, 2025

Clone Rumble starts on March 7, 2025. Unlike Galacta's Cosmic Adventure, which starts on the same date and runs through April 11, Clone Rumble is broken up into several distinct periods. These limited windows offer less time overall than other limited-time modes like Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival or Clash of Dancing Lions.

  • March 7 to 10 at 2am PT
  • March 14 to 17 at 2am PT
  • March 21 to 24 at 2am PT

When Clone Rumble is active, it's running alongside Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure event and will have specific missions tied into the event’s reward structure. You will travel around a board to collect rewards based on the missions you complete. If you want to get all your rewards from Clone Rumble, you need to pay attention to Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure too.

How The Clone Rumble Event Works

Clone Rumble Only Allows You To Choose Between Two Heroes

Marvel Rivals’ Clone Rumble event pits two teams of six against each other in one of the game’s standard modes, but with a catch. Instead of picking heroes, each team will collectively pick just a single hero. After both teams have picked a hero, all players must choose between one of the two to play as. No other heroes are available, but unlike in other game modes, you are allowed to choose the same hero as your teammates (hence, the clone part of Clone Rumble).

Because you won’t have a say in what hero the other team picks, there will be an element of chance as to how well the two chosen heroes work together.

Because you won’t have a say in what hero the other team picks, there will be an element of chance as to how well the two chosen heroes work together. Although there isn’t as much strategizing needed for team composition as there is in a typical Marvel Rivals game, there will still be some consideration about how many of each hero your team plays. Of course, this is a casual mode, so you may just want to do whatever sounds the most fun.

Best Team Combinations For Clone Rumble

Given the nature of Clone Rumble, you won’t get to plan out a team combination, but you can consider what hero you may want to choose for your team. You may want to choose a hero who has several of Marvel Rivals' team-up abilities. For instance, Rocket Raccoon has abilities he can use with both The Punisher and Groot. Alternatively, you can just choose a powerful hero like Psylocke and know that you’ll have at least one good hero.

When it comes to an actual team composition, that will also be a little tricky, but possibly easier than picking a hero. If you have a mix of hero types, you’ll want a blend of the two on your team. For example, if you have a Strategist and a Duelist, you could run three of each and be close to the typical triple comp, just without a Vanguard. If you end up with two of the same type of hero, you’re better off just playing the one you’re good at.

How To Get Black Widow's Mrs. Barnes Skin

Black Widow’s Mrs. Barnes skin is available as a reward in Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure. This means you’ll need to complete missions in Clone Rumble to advance on the event board and collect the skin. If any previous events are an indication, you will likely need to finish a good number of challenges before unlocking the skin, so it would be best to get a jump on them as soon as the event starts.

New Marvel Rivals Mode Could Create The Most Chaotic Combat Yet Thanks To This Iconic Villain

Marvel Rivals’ new game mode, Clone Rumble, could be the most chaotic mode in the game thanks to a particular character’s ability.

Overall, Clone Rumble looks like a fun shake-up for Marvel Rivals. It could also be a good way to start learning some new heroes you wouldn’t normally pick in a more casual environment. It’s a little difficult to plan for the strategy of this event, given the semi-random nature of its hero selection, but having to adapt on the fly just adds to the fun.
