Some heroes excel at taking objectives solo in Marvel Rivals. This mostly comes from avoiding the enemy entirely, such as using stealth, moving incredibly fast, or full on warping to the goal. To achieve this, the opposition has to already be careless and leave the objective open for the taking. This mostly occurs on Convergence and Domination maps where the enemy might get agitated or bored waiting for you to advance. However, it is sometimes also possible to steal the Convoy from under their noses.

To help assist with movement and planning, be sure to toggle on Chronovision. This will show any destructible environment, including walls that can be broken to reveal shortcuts and flanking opportunities. By default, Chronovision is the B key on PC and right on the D-Pad on both PlayStation and Xbox consoles. With such a small map pool in Marvel Rivals, you will eventually be able to memorize the routes without the need of Chronovision.

Abilities That Skip The Frontline

Why Fight When You Can Just Win?

Rather than marching straight forward from spawn to the objective, many abilities assist with deceiving the defenders. In an ideal game of Marvel Rivals, two or three characters might stay back to guard a location. But in reality, sometimes it is only one person or flat out no one from the enemy team. Be sure to always check the center HUD to see how many foes are directly on the objective and take advantage of their overextension.

Invisibility - Loki, Psylocke, Cloak, Lunar Force Team-Up

Some characters can flat out become unseen by the enemy, allowing some limited stealth. Loki’s Deception is the most generous in Marvel Rivals, as it makes him invisible for an unlimited duration. However, it is broken by most other actions or when taking damage. Psylocke’s Psychic Stealth abililty might be more appealing, as it applies a movement speed bonus and doesn’t break when attacked. However, her version is limited to three seconds with a 15-second cooldown.

Cloak can make the whole team invisible with Dark Teleportion, but it is very short at only a two-second duration. But, further combine it with Terror Cape to keep the enemy from seeing beyond 10 meters. When Moon Knight is paired with Cloak & Dagger in Marvel Rivals, he gains the Full Moon personal ability. This creates a four-meter bubble that makes him invisible while inside. Likely not the best means of approaching the objective, but it can be used to pause and assess the enemy situation.

Fast & Easy Traversal - Captain America, Black Widow, Spider-Man

Other heroes rely on their quick movement to simply get past the enemy team in Marvel Rivals. When Captain America uses Leading Dash, he moves 33% faster for an unlimited amount of time, and then can use Fearless Leap to jump five meters into the air to further get past foes. Black Widow’s Fleet Foot is more taxing as she moves faster until running out of energy. But, she can jump multiple times, making it great if you are moving vertically.

Captain America can play a vital role on a Marvel Rivals team, but players will need to understand how to use their abilities to the fullest.

Spider-Man can quickly move around the whole map and go right to the objective with Web-Swing. He begins each Marvel Rivals match with three charges, and it only takes three seconds to restore them. If you time it right, you can swing and soar for a near infinite time. Additionally, Spider-Man's Spider-Sense ability will alert you if an enemy is within eight meters.

Teleportation - Dr. Strange, Dimensional Shift Team-Up

Rather than running to the objective, some heroes can just instantly go there in Marvel Rivals. Dr. Strange’s Pentagram of Farallah can teleport between two points. You can immediately place this portal directly on an objective, though the spell has a long cooldown of three entire minutes.

When Magick is around, Black Panther and Psylocke gain limited teleports via the Dimensional Shift ability. This rewinds time and returns the hero to a location they were previously at. Most often, this will take you back to safety, but in the chaos of the fight, it could place you behind the enemy’s sight lines.

Respawn Selection - Adam Warlock, Guardian Revival Team-Up

Adam Warlock has the ability to respawn after death thanks to his Regenerative Cocoon ive ability. When teamed with Star-Lord or Mantis in Marvel Rivals, the latter two also gain this ability. In all cases, you have 11 seconds to reposition before coming back in with around 15% health. Since you recently died, the enemy might be on the lookout to kill you again. But, if you move far enough forward, you may be in a great place to just steal an objective.

How To Hold The Objective And When To Retreat

Winning The Objective Takes Time

Even after reaching the objective, it may not be completely safe. Some characters could have left deployed abilities to deter your approach. Peni Parker’s Bionic Spider-Nest is the most common in Marvel Rivals, as it can kill most Vanguards if set up correctly. Additionally, snipers like Hawkeye and Hela might be standing off the point, waiting to bait you into an easy headshot. They can also spot you and ping the enemy team by pressing the middle mouse wheel on PC, or down on the D-Pad on PlayStation or Xbox.

Since the enemy can also view the center HUD, they will know when you are trying to solo capture. This may cause them to fall back, or a recently killed foe may try to take you on one-vs-one. If you are a Duelist, you might win the match-up via damage and a Vanguard may hold out. If you are a Strategist, it might be time to run away.

In most cases, one-vs-one and one-vs-two fights might be manageable, but if all six enemies come your way, then it might spell the end of your current life. Depending on your Marvel Rivals team composition, falling back will be needed. Many characters, like Luna Snow and Jeff the Landshark, are great for charging with several teammates. The enemy might also be in disarray and could be picked-off as they try to scramble back to the objective. Even if you fail to fully steal the objective in Marvel Rivals, you could still have put the rest of the team in a great place to finish the job.
