Many mutants face hurdles after their X-Genes manifest, and while a fortunate few have ive families, others aren't so lucky. Robert Herman was born to a deeply anti-mutant father, who turned against his own son when Robert's waxy, transparent skin developed, giving him his signature unsettling look. From the moment he arrived at Xavier's, he battled issues with his new appearance and the beliefs he was raised with, leading him to rebel alongside some of his fellow students (namely, Kid Omega). In the following years, he witnessed some of mutantkind's worst tragedies but still evolved into a better person.
Glob Herman picked up his farming skills from Paige Guthrie in Age of X-Man: NextGen.
Glob's humor and unique journey won him plenty of fans, and despite his powers being virtually "useless", his journey is symbolic of mutantkind's biggest struggles. He can't blend into human society and there's no guidebook for existing with your skeleton on display, yet he survived catastrophes like M-Day, fought to survive on Utopia, and continued to find his place in the Jean Grey School and Krakoa. He constantly beats the odds, just as mutants strive to do. The X-Men's new base isn't a lush paradise like Krakoa, but it's granting Glob a chance to prove himself and be one of the team.
The X-Men have welcomed Glob to their ranks, and the young mutant could play a bigger role in the team's future.

not just the powerhouses. Still, though he isn't a first-string fighter, he's capable of making surprising and fearless contributions. With the right push, he can do much more than farm, and he may get the chance to prove it.
