What The Echo Trailer Reveals About Marvel's Next Show

One of the key elements in Hawkeye season 1 was the introduction of Echo and Kingpin's long history, as it was revealed that Wilson Fisk became her adoptive father. While Hawkeye scratched the surface, the Echo trailer puts her and Kingpin at the center of the MCU drama. Not only does the Echo trailer provide flashbacks to her childhood as Kingpin got more active in her life, but the footage also gives a first look at Wilson after she almost killed him in the Hawkeye season 1 finale.

For the criticism that Kingpin got in Hawkeye in of the tone they took in approaching his character, the Echo trailer is making up for it. There are plenty of bits and pieces where Kingpin gets to show his violent side, a lot more resembling what viewers saw in Netflix's Daredevil TV show. While it's not entirely clear, the Echo footage also seemingly gives a first look at Charlie Cox's Daredevil, as she can be seen fighting with someone in a dark red uniform.

The Echo trailer also gives a look at Maya's return home, exploring her Native American culture, something the MCU hasn't focused a lot on in past projects. Based on the new footage alone, Echo season 1 will definitely be an interesting journey, especially as she is one of the more obscure characters in the Marvel canon to get the chance to lead her own TV show. With only about two months left to go, the Echo marketing campaign is now in effect.

All episodes of Echo season 1 will be release Wednesday, January 10, 2024, on Disney+ and Hulu.
