Mario Golf: Super Rush, although fun to play at the start, leaves a lot to be desired due to lacking content. If Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, where they have been constantly adding new DLCs, Super Rush can become a great game with solid content overall.

By considering the sections in which the game is lacking, and drawing inspiration from past Mario games like Super Mario Bros., there can be some great additions to the game that will give it a unique twist and allow for more replayability.

Extra Characters

The game includes a total of 17 characters including the Mii, each with its own special shot and dash. Nevertheless, a few extra characters would be a great addition for Mario Golf: Super Rush, with some new unique abilities.

In addition, it would be great if Nintendo used famous Mario characters like Dry Bones or drew inspiration from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and added other Nintendo characters like Zelda and Pikachu.

Character Outfits From Previous Games

Each character in Mario Golf: Super Rush is packed with one specific golf attire. However, each character only has one outfit and there's no option to change it (other than the Mii).

Giving each character some extra attires influenced from previous Mario games like Mario getting his default Mario Bros. costume, or Peach her well-known dress. This would give the player more choices as to how to customize each character and would be relatively easy to add.

Additional Courses

Mario Golf: Super Rush includes a total of 6 courses, and while all of them are unique with their own distinct gameplay mechanics, their great design soon leaves the player craving for more. Having some additional courses would make the game more replayable and enjoyable.

For instance, Nintendo could draw inspiration from Mario Kart and add the infamous Rainbow Road map where players and the ball could easily drop off the map.

More Unlockables - Progression

Although the game is very enjoyable, there is minimal progression to motivate players to play more. Almost everything is unlocked right at the start with the rest being unlocked shortly after.

There should be some end-game content either in the form of hard to get outfits, rare unlockable characters, or even some easter eggs to discover. Having an end-game-focused DLC would greatly increase the game's replayability.

Mario Kart Powers in Speed Golf

Other than each player's dash, which can briefly knock opponents out of the way, placing mystery boxes throughout the course, similar to Mario Kart, could be a great DLC idea.

These boxes already exist in a way in Battle Golf and give players some of the most impactful weapons like bananas, blue shells, and Bob-ombs.  However, including them in Speed Golf as well would add a unique and more fun approach to the game mode.

Mii Outfits

The Mii is the player's character that can be leveled up throughout the game. However, at the moment, there are only a basic few outfits available for the Mii and thus players' are unable to customize and personalize their own character.

Having a DLC that adds multiple new outfits and cosmetics for the Mii would motivate the players to invest more time in leveling up this character.

More Story Mode Bosses

With only three bosses at the moment as part of the tutorial story mode, the PvE experience feels slightly underwhelming. A DLC that would add some of Mario's toughest foes like Wiggler as bosses would be a great addition to the game.

Although Mario sports games aren't exactly known for their story, Mario Golf: Super Rush did a great start with these boss fights and a DLC could improve it even further.

Mario Kart Vehicles in Speed Golf

In the Speed Golf game mode, players hit the ball and rush to follow it up, with the faster one getting to the ball getting an advantage.

However, instead of having the players rush to the ball through their dashes, a DLC could allow them to move faster through Mario Kart vehicles and add a unique twist to the gameplay. In addition, these vehicles could even be incorporated in the players' dashes as an extra animation.

AI Difficulties

Although AI difficulties seem to be changeable by asg them to easier or harder clubs, this is far from an ideal way to do it, and the options are minimal. Having a DLC that would add a very challenging AI difficulty would provide Mario Golf: Super Rush with more replayability while improving the way players could train with AI.

This could also make the game resemble some of the hardest video games ever, for those who would be up for the challenge of ramping up the difficulty setting.

Online Tournaments

Adding online tournaments as a DLC, similar to how they worked in Tennis Aces, would be extremely beneficial to the game, as it would motivate players to get more involved in online play.

In addition, Nintendo could add some great rewards for these tournaments to make them even more competitive, like achievements, medals, or even a special outfit for the winner. This would greatly increase the game's replayability and fans would definitely enjoy it.
