Angelina Jolie has been a celebrated actor for decades. While it did not quite top the list, Maria saw fairly instant Netflix success, as it just got added to Netflix yesterday, December 11. Its quick place on the Netflix list is probably directly correlated to the recent momentum it received when Jolie's Golden Globe nomination was announced on December 9. Nonetheless, its streaming success is a good sign that Maria could continue its momentum throughout the awards season, and potentially see Jolie's name appear on the list of Best Actresses when the Oscar nominations are announced in January.
