WARNING: The following contains spoilers for The Mandalorian.
Dyn Jarren (Pedro Pascal) returned to smuggle Star Wars live-action TV series introduced us to the lone gunslinger, whose latest mission was to retrieve an infant from the same species of Jedi Master Yoda. However, shortly after he handed it over and collected his bounty, he threw caution out the window and returned to get it back.
The episode titled "The Sin" was written by The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau and directed by Deborah Chow. It followed Dyn accomplishing and eventually jeopardizing his mission by essentially stealing baby Yoda from the people who asked him to seek the being out. It's still unclear what The Client and Dr. Pershing (and whoever is behind this whole operation) really want with the infant, but we learned in the outing that they're trying to get something from it. Whether it's Midichlorians or something else, it doesn't matter, Dyn decided that he can't leave the child in the hands of those sketchy people.
The Mandalorian knew full well what the repercussions are going to be if he double crossed The Client, and yet he still went through with it. Sneaking out of the facility serving as their base was fairly easy, but Dyn was greeted with almost every single bounty hunter in the vicinity all in the hopes of going after him and the baby. He's able to get away with the infant unscathed, thanks to the help of his fellow Mandalorians led by Paz Visla (Jon Favreau). Now, faces a far dangerous future with baby Yoda with him, but he was willing to go through with it simply because he can relate to it, since he lost his parents when he was just a child.
Dyn's depicted in the show as a ruthless bounty hunter, but it has been clear from the get-go that he has a soft spot for baby Yoda. He didn't think twice killing IG-11 (Taika Waititi) when it expressed its intention of harming the infant, even though the droid helped him get to the bounty in the first episode of The Mandalorian. As we learned more in episode 3, while he was able to survive the events the Clone Wars, Dyn's parents was killed just in time for them to safely hide him inside a bunker. We don't know what exactly happened to him after that, but we know that he was also a "foundling." Due to this traumatic experience from his childhood, he understands the difficulties of being a helpless kid in a vicious world, which are baby Yoda's current circumstances. Things are actually worse for the Baby Yoda considering that some people with seemingly nefarious intentions are seeking him specifically, and Dyn can't stand on the sidelines and let something happen to it.
A detail from Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge hints that the bounty hunter future signet will be an image of baby Yoda. For context, Mandalorian signets are like badges of honor - they get them after a series of successful missions or following an accomplished great deed. Assuming that this would be the case, chances are that Dyn will remain committed in ensuring the safety of the adorable little creature, which means that the road ahead for the both of them will be far more dangerous than what we've seen thus far in The Mandalorian.
