WARNING: The following contains spoilers for The Mandalorian.

Baby Yoda's surprising Force power in the latest episode of The Mandalorian was actually teased back in episode 2. After Mando and the Force-sensitive infant went on to various planets during their run from the Imperial remnants and other bounty hunters, they found themselves back in Nevarro. Directed by Deborah Chow, "The Reckoning" also brought back some of the show's familiar faces, including Cara Dune (Gina Carano), Kuiil (Nick Nolte), IG-11 (Taika Waititi), and Greef Karga (Carl Weathers).

With only one episode left in The Mandalorian season 1, there's still so much to learn about both Mando and Baby Yoda. Previous episodes reveal snippets of the Mandalorian's early years being saved during the events of the Clone Wars and adopted by the Mandalorians. Things are a little bit different with Baby Yoda considering that, for a character who's central in the story, there's barely anything viewers know about his origins or what the Imperial remnants want from him. The latest episode of the Disney+ series, however, continued to lean on the idea that he's strong with the Force with the reveal that he has the ability to heal someone.

Since the introduction of Baby Yoda, fans have had an inkling that it has the ability to use the Force, and it wasn't long until that hunch was confirmed in episode 2, "The Child." While trying to leave Arvala-7, Mando got into a run-in with the Jawas who ransacked his ship, leaving him and Baby Yoda without transport. In exchange for his stolen stuff, the critters demanded him to get them an egg from the Mudhorn's den. Delivering on the deal proved for be difficult when the Mudhorn put up a good fight - almost killing the Mandalorian. And if it wasn't for Baby Yoda who used the Force to hold him off enough for Mando to get back on his feet, he may have been murdered by the monster. However, long before the detail was confirmed, it was already hinted at earlier in the same episode with the child attempting to heal Mando's wounds from his futile effort to chase the Jawas aboard their sand crawler.

Baby Yoda uses the Force in The Mandalorian

At that time, Baby Yoda wasn't able to heal the Mandalorian's injury, primarily due to Mando not fully understanding what it was trying to do and decided to put it back in its bin before it even tried to use the Force. A similar scenario played out different in the most recent The Mandalorian episode where the child was able to fully heal the fatal wounds of Karga after they were ambushed by flying creatures. Everyone was understandably impressed with what the infant was able to do - somehow giving them all an idea on why it seems to be a coveted creature for the Imperials. Most importantly, it convinced Karga to change sides and be a genuine ally to Mando, rather than double cross him to help The Client (Werner Herzog).

Other than Baby Yoda's ability to use the Force to heal, the episode also revealed that he can also use it to harm people as viewers saw him try to Force choke Cara while she and Mando engaged in a game of arm wrestling. The infant read the situation wrong and thought that the Mandalorian was in distress, so its instincts kicked in to help him. It's interesting to learn more about what else the mysterious child can do, but with only one episode left for The Mandalorian's first season, chances are that those reveals are being saved for season 2.
