Love, Simon, there are wonderful sibling characters and in Love, Victor we get two: Adrian and Pilar Salazar. As the younger sister in Love, Simon, girls (and everyone, honestly) can relate to the angsty and powerful Pilar Salazar.

She’s a Billie Eilish Fan
Pilar Salazar is a Billie Eilish fan! While it's not explicitly said that Pilar is a Billie fan in the show, there is one scene that makes it seem that way.
During Victor’s birthday party, she attempts to the party in a creepy, but cool looking, Billie Eilish t-shirt. With her love of rock music and her punk (ish) personality, Billie Eilish blends in with her palate well.
She Also Loves Hard Rock
With a Nirvana shirt, a Metallica shirt, and heavy metal playing intermittently in her room, it’s safe to say she’s a hard rock fan.
Not to mention she has a “punk is life” drawing on her dresser and skulls on her walls. Pilar is hardcore, so why shouldn’t that also include her music?
She’s an Inner Softie
All during Love, Victor, Pilar says she’s “an acquired taste” and that her hard shell can be intimidating. But the reality of it is that Pilar is an inner softie that we all love.
She does what she can to protect her little brother Adrian, she looks out for her family when other people criticize them, and she fights to keep her relationships alive with her friends and (now ex) boyfriend back in Texas. She's a girl with a big heart and a whole lot of love to give.
She’s Into Horror Movies
Before Eric “brutally” dumps her, she had plans to watch horror movie fan!
Based on her edgy look and her neverending angst, this isn't surprising. We all need more characters who love Halloween and horror movies when it isn't October 31st.
She’s A Protective Older Sister
Pilar Salazar is a young woman who will do anything to protect her family, especially when it comes to her younger brother, Adrian.
Throughout the show, she does what she can to protect Adrian from their mom’s affair, she takes Adrian out for ice cream when their parents fight, and she’s attentive to Adrian’s needs. She's the protective older sister to Adrian that he doesn't know he needs in his life.
She’s Insanely Stylish
Pilar may not rock the flowers and bright colors Lake works in Love, Victor, but it’ll be ignorant to say she doesn’t have her own insanely stylish look of her own.
She has her own fashion sense - Pilar takes muted colors, flannels, and band shirts and turns it into the edgy look that she pulls off effortlessly. She dresses up her outfits with classic hoops or her go-to necklaces, too. There’s no rule that says only “girly” clothes mean fashionable - Pilar’s “my favorite color is black” aesthetic does that all on her own.
She Loves Festivals
Who doesn’t love a good festival so why shouldn’t Pilar? In her room, there are snippets of festival remnants all over the place.
Although it isn’t stated which festivals she has been to, it’s easy to notice that she also contributes to the Coachella-loving, hair feather-wearing crowd every once in a while.
She’s Feisty Because She Cares
Pilar can be petty, feisty, and ruthless, but that’s because she cares! Every dig she throws at her mother is because she feels betrayed by her mother’s affair. The fight she started at school she only started because she was defending herself.
Every snarky comment she makes about being in Atlanta is because she misses Texas and her friends. Behind every comment is a girl who doesn’t know how to express how much she cares.
She’s There For Others
One of the best things about Pilar is that she’s always there for others. For example, when Felix comes around her house for advice it then turns into an afternoon of the two keeping each other’s minds off of what they are obsessing over.
For Felix it was Lake and for Pilar, it was her friends back at home. She barely knew Felix and she was willing to help him through it.
She Gets To The Bottom Of Things
If there’s one thing people may have missed about Pilar it’s her mad detective skills. Through just Facebook alone, she was able to find out where her mom’s secret boyfriend was staying for a conference in Atlanta. And when she thought Victor was cheating on Mia, she asked almost everyone at the school dance who “B” was.
What people may seem as demanding is actually a talent they’re taking for granted.
