Screen Rant has the honor of exclusively premiering key art for Love, Death & Robots season 3, otherwise known as Love, Death and Robots Volume 3. The animated science-fiction anthology, which derives its name from three major themes embodied in most standalone episodes, will premiere globally on Netflix May 20. The series made its debut in March 2019 with an initial 18 episodes that were met with widespread acclaim, and each subsequent season consists of 8 additional episodes.

Creator Tim Miller (House of Cards) round out the team of EPs, who have committed to tales of technological horror, ethical questions, and high-quality animation from the start. Unique character designs and world building have especially been at the forefront of Miller's anthology, and it looks like the third volume of episodes will be no different.

The key art for the third volume of Love, Death & Robots can be viewed below, displaying the three icons which have become emblematic of the series. The heart, x symbol, and robot face are all burning to a crisp, which suggests a dark tone that will push the boundaries of the Netflix series even further than before. The cheeky tagline boldly refers to the building anticipation for new episodes, declaring itself to be "the threesome you've been waiting for."

The Emmy award-winning feast for the eyes is sure to be every bit as innovative and triumphant in its third season as it was in the previous two, though few details are known about what lies ahead. Even the first trailer teased audiences by dropping in clips and comparisons to Netflix's other award-wining content, such as Queen’s Gambit. Not to mention that it made reference to some of the most popular Love, Death & Robots' episodes rather than introduce new footage. But patience is a virtue, is it not?

What we do know about Love, Death & Robots season 3 is that Netflix has described it as follows:

Emmy-winning animated anthology Love, Death + Robots returns with a third volume executive produced by Tim Miller (Deadpool, Mank). Terror, imagination and beauty combine in new episodes which stretch from uncovering an ancient evil to a comedic apocalypse, telling startling short stories of fantasy, horror and science-fiction with trademark wit and visual invention.

Fans of Love, Death & Robots can look forward to several new standalone shorts with exciting visuals and thought-provoking philosophies amidst the interspersed sex and gore. But they can also get hyped at the return of one set of familiar characters: K-VRC, XBOT 4000, and 11-45-G from the fan-favorite first season episode "Three Robots," written by Philip Gelatt and based on the story by John Scalzi. As for what else is in store? Only time will tell.
