the Time Variance Authority), Loki continues Marvel’s foray into uncharted territory.
With episode 4, titled “The Nexus Event," Loki is now past its halfway point, and the series is already going places very few could have imagined before its premiere. The fourth episode featured a few revelations that the show had been building to, such as Loki’s romantic interest in Sylvie (Di Martino), who is believed to be a variant of himself. Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) also learned the shocking secret that of the TVA are all variants, followed by Loki and Sylvie discovering that the mythical Time-Keepers are merely puppets being controlled by another entity. This is not to mention a mid-credits scene that revealed four more variants of Loki.
According to Di Martino, the show has not even reached peak weirdness. In an interview with RadioTimes, Di Martino was asked about what to expect for Loki’s fifth and sixth episodes, and she revealed it is going to get “even weirder” from here on out. Read Di Martino’s full quote below:
There’s a bunch more to discover about everyone, I think. Things are going to get probably even weirder.
In the interview, the Sylvie actress also talked about how difficult it is to remain tight-lipped about her character, as there is still a lot audiences don't know about her. While the third and fourth episodes revealed a bit about Sylvie’s backstory and powers of enchantment, this doesn't even appear to scratch the surface of the enigmatic character.
Loki’s penultimate episode will air on July 7 followed by the finale a week later on July 14. By then, hopefully all Sylvie-related mysteries will be solved, such as whether she is truly a Lady Loki or the Enchantress, although she is more likely a combination of both. With the possibility of a Loki season 2 always looming, there is also a chance season 1 ends on a cliffhanger, but the show would be remiss not to tie up many of its loose ends before then.
