Warning! Contains spoilers for The Lincoln Lawyer season 1

Although The Lincoln Laywer's man with the tattoo also provides a pretty big clue as to where the show may be going in the future. Cisco's undeclared destination also suggests a direction for season 2's story.

The Lincoln Lawyer is a Netflix series about Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), a lawyer who operates from his Lincoln Town Car. He is assigned to the case of a tech billionaire accused of murder, but his job also brings him in close proximity with killers, corruption and criminal biker gangs. During the show, Haller attempts to repay Cisco's debt to the motorcycle club known as the Road Saints by defending "Hard-Case" Casey on drug and firearms charges. Cisco finds out and attempts to put a stop to it, insisting that his debts are his own, but he can't prevent Haller from successfully defending Casey. Cisco, a former member of The Lincoln Lawyer's Road Saints (1% patch and all), approaches the gang's leader, Teddy, and receives an offer from him. The last time we see him, he rides off on his bike.

Though the of Teddy's deal aren't revealed, it's fair to assume that they involve some sort of criminal activity. Cisco appears to have accepted the deal, riding off in preparation for his new partnership with his former associates. Alternatively, he could have rejected the deal and fled, attempting to put as much distance between him and the Road Saints as possible. This seems unlikely, though, as Cisco isn't the kind of person to run away from trouble. Although a definitive answer isn't provided in the books which The Lincoln Lawyer borrows cases from, there are ways in which season 2 can pull from the source novels to keep Cisco in play.

Harold "Hard-Case" Casey the Lincoln Lawyer

No matter the direction in which the showrunners take The Lincoln Lawyer season 2, Haller will need a new lead investigator to aid him with his cases. Perhaps this could be Raul Levin, an associate of Haller's in the novels, whose inclusion would afford the opportunity to tell the first book's story without losing Cisco. Cisco is a long-standing character in the later books, but he doesn't actually appear in the first at all. It wouldn't make sense for the showrunners to use him as the investigator who is killed considering that he plays an important part in the stories that later seasons may want to adapt.

Though nobody knows everything about The Lincoln Lawyer season 2, it's obvious that it would be a shame for the show to lose one of its major characters this early. Though Cisco may be entirely absent from season 2, he could potentially have his own storyline that runs concurrently with Haller's. In either case, it's clear that Cisco intends to either pay off his debts via his deal with Teddy or get as far away from the Road Saints as possible. That's where he goes at the end of season 1.
