Despite what a viewer's Zodiac sign may be, everyone can attest to experiencing some type of emotion when it comes to action movies. For Libras, while action movies may not rank as high as Rom-Com of Family-based movies, sitting down and enjoying some good old fashioned fisticuffs and gunfights is never off the table.
To keep a Libra interested in an action movie, though, the script must call for a few things beyond simple explosions and brawls. Libras set their lives based on balance, emotion, family, and the finer things in life. Watching a movie solely based on a single individual is not what will pull a Libra into a film. There has to be a certain vibe of camaraderie, selfishness, and most of all, there has to be an emotional attachment. With these in mind, here are 5 action movies that a Libra individual will love and 5 more they would hate.
HATE: Gemini Man (2019)
This title alone will be a good reason Libras will hate Gemini Man (Hint: We're not talking about "Man"). But seriously, Libras will lean more to the buddy flicks than action movies starring a lone gunman. And for a movie like Gemini Man, it was a one-on-one battle.
Will Smith did a great job playing a dual role and the action scenes were nice, but this film is not for the average Libra, who loves balance in their story. For a film with too much focus on one person, there was no balance to be found. Libras love to be stable, and all the characters did in Gemini Man was either run, chase, and hide.
LOVE: The Bad Boys Franchise
It doesn't matter which of the three Bad Boys films are chosen because Libras will get everything they're searching for in this franchise. Not a singular actor gets the focus, which makes it one of those buddy films that Libras crave.
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence team up in the movies and deliver high-octane action and comedy scenes. The balance in the film is top-notch as both characters play off each other well. Martin is more comedic while Smith provides a serious tone.
HATE: The John Wick Franchise
Blood, language, violence, and a dead dog. What's not to like about any of the John Wick movies? Well, for Libras, plenty. John Wick was a solo killing machine out for revenge; that alone spells doom for Libras. Sociable, well-liked, and one to keep the peace, that was not Wick's personality.
Set on revenge, Wick was out for blood. Each of the chapters in John Wick's trek through the criminal underworld held true to great action scenes that any Libra will love, but the storyline itself will not fit a Libra's standards.
LOVE: The Matrix Trilogy
The typical Libra will enjoy everything there is about The Matrix. It doesn't matter which movie in the franchise is chosen since The Matrix will keep the interest of most Libras. The action is well-placed, the dialogue is great and it's a good bonding movie with a side of romance between Trinity and Neo thrown in for good measure.
While it's not much of a buddy flick like Bad Boys, The Matrix still has a main character who relies on teamwork and balance to save the day and be true to himself.
HATE: The Predator (2018)
This belated sequel is an action movie that Libras can . Guns are okay, but a movie centered on nothing more than the premise of guys with guns fighting some deadly creature in a remote location... well, that's not a Libra's style. Sci-Fi is not a genre that Libras will normally turn their nose up to but The Predator was part action and part "What in the world was that?"
No matter the genre, to hold a Libra's attention, there has to be some sort of great storytelling and a love connection in there. The Predator, even with its lip service towards family and brotherhood among military outcasts, was really just violence on top of more violence with no real meaning behind it.
LOVE: Captain America: Civil War (2016)
Any Captain America: Civil War so appealing to Libras is the storyline. Civil War is a story of morals, balance, and friendships.
Libras love family just as much as a good romantic movie. The friendship between Steve Rodgers and Bucky Barnes will draw the oohs and ahhs from any true Libra.
HATE: Gladiator (2000)
Gladiator is not so much a coming of age movie but one of great distinction concerning politics, family, betrayal, and vengeance. Ridley Scott's award-winning historical piece was one of the purest action movies ever made without the use of one single gun. The balance between characters in the movie was brilliantly done, even if the film was mainly focused on Maximus avenging the death of his family.
Everything was in place for a triumphant story until the balance was broken by literal cheating on Caesar's part. This robbed the movie of what should've been a worthy clash of ideals but even then, Libras will still be left weeping in their pillows when the tragic ending rolls in.
LOVE: The Fast & Furious Franchise
As with the Bad Boys and The Matrix films, the Fast & Furious franchise is a must for Libras. The action scenes are great and the dialogue is up to standard, but it's the storylines behind the films that have garnered so much attention. Libras love anything regarding family, so it's no wonder that the underrated emotional scenes of the Fast & Furious saga are what will pull the average Libra in.
That, and Libras love exquisite things. The vehicles that are displayed in these movies are top of the line in custom machinery, which will definitely appeal to those Libras who are really into anything with four wheels.
HATE: Saving Private Ryan (1998)
Saving Private Ryan is an awesome World War II movie but the reason why a Libra would hate it the ending. Much like Gladiator before it, it's hard for the typical Libra to fall in love with a character (or characters), only to see them die at the end.
With Saving Private Ryan, it was a wave of emotions. Here, soldiers who are otherwise normal guys are tasked to go on a mission to bring one guy home while putting their lives in danger - a mission they don't fully fathom up until the end. This is a feel-good story about brotherhood and camaraderie that did not have to end the way that it did. Libras will love the very human storyline and Spielberg's filmmaking, but the tragic ending will break their hearts.
LOVE: Die Hard (1988)
What sign doesn't love a good Christmas movie? Despite what the polls may think, Die Hard is (rightfully) considered a Christmas action movie by many. For Libras, it's appealing due to the Holidays and the family balance. While going through a separation, John McClane still chose to put his life on the line for his wife.
Everything about Die Hard screams Libra: Great storyline, good action, well-timed comedic drops, and best of all, a great family story mixed with enough emotion to force a man on the brink to do the unthinkable.
