With LEGO fans waiting patiently for more news on the company's latest collaboration with Nintendo, a recent leak shed more light on the highly-anticipated set. With the success of the Super Mario Bros. crossover, LEGO has continued to pursue its relationship with Nintendo, providing fans with several massive collections that faithfully recreate beloved series like Animal Crossing and The Legend of Zelda. The companies even worked together to release a LEGO version of the Nintendo Entertainment System, but now a smaller device is about to step into the spotlight.
Per VGC, citing reputable leaker FalconBricks, the LEGO Game Boy is slated to release on October 1 and will cost $59.99. That price may sound high but in comparison to the NES set, it's significantly cheaper: That massive build cost a staggering $229.99, which makes sense given how much bigger it is. The LEGO Game Boy reportedly comprises 421 pieces, while the NES is made up of over 2,500 pieces, so the price difference is expected.

A Handheld LEGO Set For Nostalgic Fans
As with all leaks, it's recommended that fans take the report with a grain of salt. At the time of writing, the only concrete information on the LEGO Game Boy is that it exists after the company dropped a brief teaser trailer in January 2025 confirming that the set would be released in October 2025. LEGO hasn't even revealed what the build looks like, leading many to question why the company would announce the product 10 months before its debut.
Given the reported piece count, it's reasonable to conclude that the LEGO Game Boy will be a one-to-one recreation of the iconic handheld device. perfect for the Game Boy and given the abundance of fan-builds, one has to assume that the official product will live up to the hype.

Nintendo x LEGO Collabs Are On The Rise
Fans Can't Enough!
As mentioned above, LEGO has been ramping up its collaborations with Nintendo following the success of the initial Super Mario Bros. set. With the Legend of Zelda sets proving especially popular, I have to hope that even more franchises receive the LEGO treatment. Animal Crossing builds have always felt a little bland to me, but I would love to have sets based on iconic classics like Metroid, Star Fox, or even Wii Sports.
