DC's "Summer of Superman" is hitting the ground running with all sorts of exciting announcements, and the latest is a new comic entitled Krypto: The Last Dog of Krypton, written by Ryan North with art by Mike Norton and a gorgeous cover by Jae Lee. This 5-issue miniseries will follow the ever-endearing Superdog himself as he searches for Kal-El and witnesses the ups and downs of humanity via his travels.

There Is No Better Boy Than Krypto for Superman, And Its Time DC Gave Us More Bark Kent
The world got its first glimpse of Krypto the Superdog in live-action in the teaser trailer for Superman, but what's the pup like in DC's comics?
Comic fans may recognize Ryan North's work from Marvel Comics' The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl and Fantastic Four, and he's now bringing his talents to DC for Krypto's revamped origin story. He'll be teaming up with artist Mike Norton, who is ready to capture hearts with his portrayal of Superman's canine companion. North had this to say about his and Norton's experience with expanding upon Krypto's lore:
Krypto's origin has always been done at kind of a high level. The little guy starts out on Krypton, ends up on Earth, and helps Superman fight crime. The chance to really define Krypto—to show what a little lost dog would go through if he landed all alone on a strange alien world named Earth—was really enticing. And I also fell in love with the idea of treating Krypto as the actual dog he is: he doesn't talk, and we don't cheat by reading his thoughts in balloons either. Mike Norton’s art captures exactly what needs to be ‘said’ in every scene.
The care that's being put into ensuring Krypto's story is told in the right way proves that this will be the definitive retelling of his early days on Earth once it hits shelves this summer.
