Khloe Kardashian’s patience with Tristan is irable, but does his basketball salary keep her sweet? Fans are racking their brains trying to figure out why these two are so chummy with each other. For many people, not even their children could keep them on friendly with a cheating ex. So what is Khloe's real motivation?
Since 2011, Tristan has played basketball for the Cleveland Cavaliers. According to Celebrity Net Worth, his fortune lingers around $35 million, and is speculated to increase over time once his contract is up for negotiation. By contrast, Khloe is worth about $40 million, thanks to her personal appearances, television producing credits, and work on his by at least $5 million, so money is probably not her motivation.
Khloe does tend to keep a door open for many of her exes. Few could forget how she rushed to be by Lamar Odom's side when he was found unresponsive in a Nevada brothel. She was also in close with former beau French Montana after he was hospitalized for health problems last year. After Tristan's multiple cheating scandals in 2018 and 2019, reports surfaced that the NBA star had thoughts of suicide and was desperately trying to win Khloe back. Still, she denies any reconciliation has taken place. Recent developments seem to negate that.
This week, Khloe held a KUWTK watch party and invited her baby daddy to with the rest of the family. It was evident even then, with so many of the Kardashians and Jenners welcoming Tristan back into the fold with nary a sarcastic comment, that he and Khloe were closer than suspected. She even decided to spend her time in quarantine with him so that he could see their daughter, True, who just celebrated her 2nd birthday in April.
Khloe explained her conflict over how she and Tristan would divide time with True during the mandatory stay-at-home orders: "I'm sure he won't make me do anything I don't feel comfortable doing, but then is that even fair for True to not see her dad because that's going to be a long however many months," Khloe explained in a taped confessional. "It just gives me anxiety to think I'd have to send her anywhere. She's just a baby."
It's not so much Tristan's financial viability that keeps Khloe so loving and comionate towards him. After all, she's a millionaire and is flush with cash herself. Perhaps it's low self-esteem coupled with a sense of martyrdom that has her loving the unlovable. Tristan Thompson is bad news romantically. Sure, he's a good father and a nice friend, but Khloe has to realize that the relationships to which she exposes her daughter are the first impressions of love, trust, and respect True will learn. Therefore, running back to cheating Tristan is a recipe for disaster and a vicious cycle no mother should ever wish on her child. So, to quote Jessie J: "It's not about the money, money, money." Khloe just might be someone who thrives on chaos.
