On the villainous Assanti Brothers) were featured with Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, and there are many facts about the famous siblings' lives after the show. It's been seven years since their television appearance in My 600-lb Life season 5, episode 13. They have since moved on with their lives, and curiosity surrounds how they've fared.

Dr. Now puts his patients (including Justin and Steven) on strict weight-loss regimens that test their willpower. The diets ensure that they will be viable candidates for the surgery. Before qualifying for a bariatric procedure, Steven got kicked out of the hospital due to substance abuse issues. He also allegedly verbally abused medical staff. Justin left the hospital but stuck to his routine - he eventually qualified for the operation. Steven's infamous because he's considered an unsavory character. Justin was much more reserved on the show.

What The Assanti Brothers Are Up To

No love was lost between the brothers, and that doesn't seem to have changed. Justin and Steven are currently not on speaking . Steven is the heavier of the two and once weighed over 800 pounds. Justin's highest weight was just over 600 pounds. In a Where Are They Now? special, Steven reported that he'd lost over 300 pounds, and weighed roughly 500 pounds. However, Dr. Now thought that he was heavier than that. Justin has said that he lost 200 pounds after the bariatric procedure.

My 600-Lb Life's Justin Found Love

Steven Assanti Got Married

Steven got married to Stephanie Sanger after My 600-lb Life. He claimed that the fame he garnered from the series affected his marriage. He also said that the editing on the show only featured his bad moments. His wife backed up this statement when she said he was a good person rather than problematic, as he seemed to be onscreen. While Justin itted that their episode was a bit exaggerated, it accurately portrayed how difficult Steven can be. He still runs his shop, Hobby Haven, which helps him to deal with his social anxiety.

Six years ago, a Redditor using the handle Defawk wrote that Steven's wife posted something shocking on "her page." That post on Reddit is shown above. It features a mocking caricature that includes the words:

"Stop doing weird things. No more Vicodin."

One fan responded to the cartoon, sensing trouble in the marriage. They said:

Well if his wife posted this guess their marriage ain't going great. How long is she going to last, does anyone know if she is a mail order bride?

Clearly, the Assantis are of perennial interest to fans of the series. However, a lot of the chatter about the pair is negative. Yes, there are ive comments, such as those about the false death rumors. Nonetheless, overall, people are more likely to criticize the siblings - even Steven's wife was a target.

While she's gotten shade, she has said some nice things about her husband. When trolls attacked him, she valiantly defended the reality star. That says a lot about her. To those who criticized Steven's appearance on the show, she had this to say, as per a Starcasm exclusive:

“His face, his eyes and hair, I think he’s beautiful. Beauty is skin deep and he has a heart of gold….[Steven is] nothing like how he was perceived on the TV show at all or on his YouTube videos. He’s a gentleman and a fantastic lover and lover of life in general.”

Those comments were quite moving. She is right that there is something beautiful about everyone. She saw things in her partner that My 600-Lb Life viewers might miss. She appreciated his appearance as well as what was inside. For a person like Steven, who's been through so much, and gotten heckled for not meeting society's idea of what handsomeness is, she was the ideal wife.

Stephanie was his fan before she was his love interest. They got in touch online and built a friendship. They met at a Texas hotel and Steven was wary. Since she was someone who watched the show, he may have questioned her intentions. However, with her warmth and sincerity, she quickly eased his fears. He began to trust her. Three days after their first meeting, they decided to move in together in Iowa.

So, while Redditors may wonder if there's trouble in paradise, it's possible that they're misinterpreting the Reddit post shown above. Again, there's no hard proof that Stephanie posted that. At Reddit, everything isn't always as it seems. In general, she's her husband's cheerleader - she's not one to tear him apart publicly. She tears apart his haters instead.

Steven Assanti & Stephanie Sanger Seem To Have Split Up

They Couldn't Make It Work

Stephanie used to post on Twitter (now X) using the handle Instantkarma417. Now, her appears to be suspended. However, some aspects of her older posts are still visible, and so is her X bio:

Introvert, extrovert. Artist, deep thinker. Mother, Healer... ionate, silly and a little bit crazy. Always in lust, always weird. I love my rats

Her background photo at X is a picture of her with canceled shock rocker Marilyn Manson. Back in 2023, she seemed to be a superfan. In another deleted post, she raved about meeting the born villain, believing the experience was one of the best she'd ever had. However, she no longer gushes about Steven, whose saga is showcased in the clip above.

Accused of being a clout chaser, Stephanie may have been too good to be true. It's possible that she is an attention -seeker. She never seemed to shy away from the spotlight. Steven and Stephanie reportedly live in different cities now, and probably won't reconcile, as per Nicki Swift. Steven was wary when he met the blonde woman and maybe his intuition was dead on. However, he was probably lonely. She was so attentive that he overcame his fears. Now, he may wonder why things fell apart.

At first, when she and Steven began interacting online, people thought she was faking her identity. They believed that Stephanie was catfishing a vulnerable man with a serious weight issue. While she turned out to be real, in of looking like her profile photo, it's hard to say how much else was genuine. Only Stephanie knows for sure.

In a now-deleted Facebook post, she added a cartoon that appeared to be Steven, calling out the cartoon character for using Vicodin. So, perhaps there were issues there that tore the duo apart. Neither has said anything else bad about the other.

Dr. Now Had Trouble Dealing With The Brothers

However, Steven Assanti Is Still Alive

In February 2023, a rumor was spread that Steven's heart had given out at age 40. However, Justin, who stays out of the spotlight, appeared to address the rumors online. Justin refuted allegations that Steven had died, and although the brothers were estranged, he assured the media that Steven was still alive.

In a Reddit thread started by JustinAssanti600life, My 600-lb Life fans weighed in on the death hoax rumors. Most were ive of Justin. While there's no proof, the OP made it seem like "he" was Justin. The people on the thread appeared to believe that it really was him. One ive fan said:

u/JustinAssanti600life keep fighting and every day is a chance to turn things around. Best to you and your family.

While the rumors about Steven's et his brother, Justin is staying positive. He loves the "mini" wargame Warhammer, which is extremely popular. At his shop, there are tons of games and lots of Warhammer products. In the Warhammer universe, all is not so rosy. A major war rages, and supernatural forces and aliens are involved in the battle. Warhammer probably fuels Justin's fantasy life - it's likely the perfect escape from concerns about health and family.

Justin has a lot going on in his life. He's not just about his reality star history. His Hobby_haven Instagram showcases plenty of his ions, including his penchant for Warhammer.

While their conditions are unknown today, the My 600-Lb Life stars have not ed away. Since a lot of people have died who appeared on the show, their longevity is such good news. The series shows the downside of addiction and the stories shown onscreen are important.
