Warning: Spoilers for Justice League Unlimited #1The Justice League is currently undergoing a major upgrade as it becomes Justice League Unlimited, which grants hip to the Justice League to every available hero on Earth. While I personally thought this change would just mean a bigger roster available for stories, I didn't realize that the Justice League would become a literal mobilized army, the biggest that DC has ever seen. While the Justice League has always been large, Unlimited is on a completely different level.
After the events of Absolute Power by Mark Waid and Dan Mora, the Justice League is reforming, and they've realized that the only reason Amanda Waller nearly destroyed them was because of how separated they were. Not wanting to make the same mistake, the Justice League is formally starting over as the Justice League Unlimited in, appropriately, Justice League Unlimited #1 by Waid and Mora.
Whereas before the Justice League's roster was usually only around seven or eight , Justice League Unlimited will be open to everyone.
Justice League Unlimited Includes Every Hero Working Together - And I Love It
Justice League Unlimited #1 by Mark Waid, Dan Mora, Tamra Bonvillain, and Ariana Maher
When I first heard of this premise, I thought that the Justice League would simply be opening their doors to every available hero in order to share their resources. The Justice League has a teleportation system that can take people all over the world. They have a massive database of every known villain and threat. They even have some of the most powerful weapons and artifacts safely locked away. I had assumed from this premise that any hero, who had been properly vetted, would now have access to these resources, but Justice League Unlimited goes so much further than I thought.
The Justice League has always been one of the greatest teams in the DC Universe because its roster has pretty much always been the most powerful heroes that DC has to offer. The Justice League has most often been home to characters such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Flash, and Martian Manhunter. But other versions of the team have also included Aquaman and even Cyborg. While each iteration has been a powerful roster, they all pale in comparison to Justice League Unlimited. Not only does every hero now have access to the Justice League's resources, but they're mobilized to save the world.
It's an absolutely incredible system, and I find it hard to imagine how any villain could stand against it.
Justice League Unlimited is a force that utilizes every hero on the planet, including of other teams and even sidekicks, to respond to disasters and supervillains as they appear. Within a second of a supervillain doing something, a superhero team that's been specifically configured to deal with them is already on the way. It's an absolutely incredible system, and I find it hard to imagine how any villain could stand against it. If Mr. Freeze, for example, decides to become a world-threatening issue, the Justice League will have a dozen heroes who specialize in fire on his location immediately.
Justice League Unlimited Is a Bigger Threat to Villains Than Ever Before
DC's Best Heroes Are All Gathered in One Massive Team
One of the biggest issues that the traditional Justice League has faced is that they can't be everywhere. With only seven or eight , they would often be tied up in one major disaster. This earthbound limitation isn't even counting the numerous times that the Justice League has had to go off into space to deal with a threat on another planet. During these times, the rest of the superhero community has to deal with whatever supervillains or disasters there are without the Justice League's resources on hand.
Mark Waid and Dan Mora are on a roll as a team; check out their recent DC collaborations, including Batman / Superman: World's Finest, Shazam!, and the essential-reading Absolute Power, which leads directly to the events if Justice League Unlimited #1.
Justice League Unlimited is the most powerful and most well-prepared version of the Justice League that I have ever seen. They have nearly no weaknesses, and, since they have access to every hero on the planet, they have a power or skill set for every occasion. It's hard to imagine how any group of supervillains could possibly stand up against this version of the iconic team, and I think that might become a major plot point later. With the Justice League so well-staffed and organized now, I think it's likely that the Injustice League might return. That's the only way I can see any group of villains handling this powerful new League.

Is DC's New Ultra Team Sustainable?
While Justice League Unlimited is incredibly impressive, DC's greatest heroes may have just set themselves up for a different kind of failure. Amanda Waller nearly managed to take over the world because the Justice League was disbanded, and the heroes were scattered. Now, Justice League Unlimited is practically ever-present. They have a roster that could number in the hundreds, and they can respond to anything with a specialized team.

"Take This Justice League and Stick It Up Your [CENSORED]": An Iconic DC Hero Officially Quits the Justice League, Calling Out "Self-Important" Heroes
Is this iconic hero's outburst a true reflection of the League’s shortcomings, or is it simply the manifestation of their guilty conscience?
But this new status quo could mean that they're overreaching. With so many , having a spy infiltrate the team would be easier than ever - and new readers should definitely check out the final page of this issue for a major plot twist that exploits this weakness. Hopefully, this version of the Justice League can solve any problems on Earth and any problems that come from within.
