New footage for Jurassic World Rebirth's story features a new cast of characters, including Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson), Dr. Henry Loomis (Jonathan Bailey), and Mahershala Ali (Duncan Kincaid). Zora is a skilled covert operations expert, Dr. Loomis is a paleontologist, and Duncan is a particularly trusted member of Zora's team.
Now, Jurassic World has released a closer look at what to expect from the dinosaur action when Rebirth releases later in 2025. Zora, Dr. Loomis, and Duncan are seen teaming up as they head to the island that was a research facility for the original Jurassic Park. They encounter velociraptors and other fearsome dinosaurs who were too dangerous to be brought into Jurassic Park, making them even more formidable than the dinosaurs from the original movie. What This Means For Jurassic World Rebirth
The Characters And Dinosaurs Look Exciting
The Super Bowl trailer concisely introduces Jurassic World Rebirth's new cast of characters and shows them confronting some of the franchise's most terrifying dinosaurs yet. Zora, Dr. Loomis, and Duncan already have a different dynamic from the characters in the Jurassic Park and previous Jurassic World trilogies. Dr. Loomis is the expert on dinosaurs, but Zora and Duncan's experience in covert operations makes them more at home when it comes to navigating these life-threatening situations.

Jurassic World Rebirth's Spinosaurus Redesign Explained: How It Compares To Jurassic Park 3 & Real Life
The first Jurassic World Rebirth trailer prominently featured the return of the fan-favorite spinosaurus, albeit with some major design updates.
Some of Jurassic World Rebirth's dinosaurs are familiar from the previous movies, including the velociraptors, but others, like the Titanosaurus, are making their franchise debut. The mixture of new and familiar dinosaurs can help make Rebirth appealing to new and longtime fans of the franchise that began with the beloved first movie directed by Steven Spielberg. Being threatened by dinosaurs on land, in the ocean, and from the air further raises the stakes as well, making nowhere truly safe for the characters during their mission.
Our Take On Jurassic World Rebirth's Super Bowl Trailer
It Is An Exciting Next Step For The Franchise
The trailer lives up to the promise of Rebirth going back to the franchise's roots and feeling different from the more recent movies. The Gareth Edwards-directed and David Koepp-written film is leaning into a mixture of thrilling action and horror that makes the dinosaurs feel terrifying again. Johansson, Bailey, and Ali are all seasoned actors and fresh faces for the popular and long-running franchise. Jurassic World Rebirth remains poised to be a major summer blockbuster and one of 2025's biggest movies.
Will Rebirth's Three Main Stars Survive The Movie?
They Will Face Unparalleled Danger
Given the dinosaurs that Zora, Dr. Loomis, and Duncan are facing, it stands to reason that one or more of them could the ranks of the Jurassic Park franchise's most memorable deaths. In the previous Jurassic World trilogy, Chris Pratt's Owen Grady had the help of Blue and other velociraptors. However, in Rebirth, it seems that none of the dinosaurs will be allies, and they will all pose significant danger to the new characters.

What's Happened To All The Dinosaurs In Jurassic World Rebirth
Years after the ending of Jurassic World Dominion, the Jurassic World Rebirth will reveal that dinosaurs are dying all over the world.
Without the help of any dinosaurs, it will be more difficult for Zora, Dr. Loomis, and Duncan to survive. A major character death could help set the tone for Rebirth and any potential sequels, and establish this iteration as the most deadly yet in the franchise. At the same time, Rebirth is likely only the first installment in a larger trilogy, and killing off a major character in the first movie could be premature. It will be difficult to get invested in the new characters if they are killed off too soon.
Killing Zora, Dr. Loomis, or Duncan would be one way for Jurassic World Rebirth to make itself distinct, though, and to make the movie's dinosaurs feel especially dangerous.
The franchise does not want to squander the talents of Johansson, Bailey, and Ali either, with all three actors being major draws for this soft reboot. More minor Rebirth characters and the human villains will probably be the ones to die, which is what the past movies have traditionally done. Killing Zora, Dr. Loomis, or Duncan would be one way for Jurassic World Rebirth to make itself distinct, though, and to make the movie's dinosaurs feel especially dangerous.
