After the most recent trailer, I can now confidently say that Jurassic World Rebirth looks outstanding.
After the last couple of movies received mixed critical receptions, Jurassic World Rebirth is meant to start a new era for the franchise. Because of this, it seems like Universal spared no expense to ensure that it is the franchise's best movie in years. The cast of Jurassic World Rebirth includes Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali, and Rupert Friend. Additionally, the film is directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp, who penned the screenplay for the original Jurassic Park. Therefore, it seems likely that Jurassic World Rebirth will recapture the magic of Spielberg's original movie.
Jurassic World Rebirth Has The Horror & Wonder Of Spielberg's Jurassic Park
Spielberg's Jurassic Park Was A Triumph
Spielberg's original Jurassic Park movie was so special because it focused on both the wonder and the horror created by the dinosaurs. Firstly, Jurassic Park includes many awe-inspiring shots of dinosaurs, such as the brachiosaurus' walking through the field. Shots like this were especially mind-blowing in 1993, since CGI wasn't as common or as developed as it is today. However, on the flip side, several scenes in Jurassic Park prove how terrifying and deadly dinosaurs can be, and showcased the dangers of humans playing God.
Based on the trailers, it is clear that Jurassic World Rebirth will be one of the scariest entries in the franchise. In fact, the T-rex river scene, the mosasaurus boat scene, and the inclusion of the new mutant dinosaur known as the D-rex suggest that Jurassic World Rebirth could be the franchise's scariest movie since the original. However, there also appears to be a sense of awe that is reminiscent of the tone of the original movie. In some trailer shots, we see a real fascination and wonder with the dinosaurs that was lacking in the previous Jurassic World movies.
Rebirth Feels More Like Jurassic Park Than A Jurassic World Movie
Rebirth Isn't Repeating The Mistakes Of The Other Jurassic World Movies
It should be noted that it's hard to determine whether Jurassic World Rebirth will recapture the magic of the original movie just based off a couple of trailers. However, it does seem like the film will be more similar to the original Jurassic Park than any of the previous Jurassic World movies. This makes sense, since Koepp was brought back to write the script for Jurassic World Rebirth. Compared to the previous Jurassic World movies, which all tried to be very big and ambitious, Jurassic World Rebirth seems like it will be quite contained and atmospheric.

Based on the new title for the franchise, it is pretty obvious that the Jurassic World movies really wanted to show dinosaurs in the real world. However, this was unfortunately never as effective or as wondrous as fans initially hoped. Therefore, I'm glad that Jurassic World Rebirth is going to establish that most of the dinosaurs are now living on islands rather than roaming the world freely. Setting the story primarily on one island and showing how dangerous the dinosaurs can be will hopefully ensure that Jurassic World Rebirth is a return to form for the franchise.
Despite This, Jurassic World Rebirth Doesn't Look Like It's Too Nostalgic
Jurassic World Rebirth Seems Like It Will Perfectly Blend Old & New
It's also worth mentioning that the aforementioned T-rex river attack scene in Jurassic World Rebirth actually comes from the Jurassic Park novel and was cut from the original movie. Including this scene in Rebirth further suggests that the movie will feel closer in tone and style to the original. However, it also doesn't seem like Jurassic World Rebirth is focusing too much on nostalgia, which is a good thing.

Jurassic World Rebirth Is Practically Combining The Stories Of The Jurassic Park Trilogy, & That's Why It Could Be Great
Jurassic World Rebirth is practically combining the stories of the original Jurassic Park trilogy, and that's why it could end up being great.
Obviously, Jurassic World Rebirth is going to be partly driven by nostalgia. This is inevitable because of how iconic the original movie is. However, it also seems like it's going to have its own identity and try to tell a bold new story in the franchise. In contrast, the previous Jurassic World movies all seemed desperate for viewers' nostalgia, yet they all failed to recapture the magic of the original movie. Overall, it seems like Jurassic World Rebirth may be the best movie in the franchise since the original, which is why I can't wait for it to be released.
