Famed producer Hiram Garcia recently revealed that there is a big vision in the works for Jumanji: The Next Level, adding Danny DeVito and Danny Glover to the already star-studded cast.
In 2019, Johnson insinuated that Jumanji 4 would likely happen, and director Jake Kasdan later confirmed this statement. Co-star Kevin Hart also chimed in, stating his firm belief that the film would definitely develop. Despite the overwhelming confirmation that the film would likely happen, not much has been revealed about Jumanji 4 at this point. However, Jumanji: The Next Level clearly provided ample space for a sequel. In the past, Garcia has briefly spoken about their efforts regarding Jumani 4, stating in a relatively low-key way that they will strive to "knock it out of the park."
In a recent sitdown with According to Garcia, his team at Seven Bucks are currently gearing up to make their official pitch to Sony sometime soon. See what Garcia had to say below:
"We've got a big vision for [the next Jumanji] movie. So we're fired up for that. We're taking it in soon. And obviously the goal is sometime after... Jake [Kasdan] is doing Red One for us, so that is going to be next up. But sometime after Red One comes out, Jumanji is going to be on deck. I feel like we'll have everything ready by then and we'll be able to get into that third installment."
In light of the recent news, it appears that audiences might be in for a wild ride with Jumanji 4 coming sooner than expected. However, Karen Gillan recently shared that she had not received any updates on the film, nor had she been approached about it. Digging a level deeper, Jack Black is seemingly the wildcard of the bunch, stating in 2019 that Jumanji: The Next Level might be his last film with the franchise. Beyond that, the only impediment appears to be acquiring a green light from Sony and the ability to get everyone back together at the same time, which is proving somewhat tricky at the moment due to various commitments to other projects.
Although Jumanji: The Next Level was released in 2019. Even with that being the case, it is exciting to think about how the filmmaker and all the creative minds behind the scenes will attempt to top what the franchise has already accomplished. Nevertheless, audiences will patiently wait, as more is likely yet to be revealed about the popular film's next rendition once it is officially confirmed.
