Hype has never been bigger for Jujutsu Kaisen season three, which is why fans were so delighted to find more information about it at Jump Festa 2024. 2025 is going to be a big year for anime as evidenced by the litany of other big announcements at 2024's Jump Festa, a convention meant to celebrate Shonen Jump's biggest and brightest series. With the Jujutsu Kaisen manga officially over, all eyes are on the season of anime, and based on what was just revealed, fans have good reason to look forward to MAPPA's next big project.
After all, Jujutsu Kaisen season three just dropped a first look with its first poster. The key visual, as fans can see below, brings Yuji Itadori front and center. Of course, the sorcerer will have plenty to do when he returns to television as Jujutsu Kaisen is ready to tackle the Culling Game arc. So fans who want a peek at what's to come can check out MAPPA Studios' first key visual for season three below:
Even before this new look was revealed at Jump Festa 2024, fans already had a good idea of how Jujutsu Kaisen season three would look. The third season is set to adapt the two arcs that followed the Shibuya Incident arc that dominated much of season 2. The Itadori's Examination and Perfect Preparation arcs ran for 20 chapters altogether. All of this should lead nicely into the manga's Culling Game arc that runs from chapter 159 through to chapter 221.
Season 3 Could Be Jujutsu Kaisen's Most Divisive Season Yet
The Culling Game is Often Regarded as Controversial
Despite the critical and commercial acclaim Jujutsu Kaisen has seen, The Culling Game will represent an important test for MAPPA. Jujutsu Kaisen fans are generally split on The Culling Game, with some accusing the arc of dragging in places. Still, despite the potential criticisms, the arc features many impressive battles and some of the wildest characters in the franchise's history. Given MAPPA's solid track record with adapting the franchise, fans shouldn't necessarily worry about season 3.

Jujutsu Kaisen Courts Death, But One of Its Kills Will Haunt Us Forever
One of Jujutsu Kaisen's most heartbreaking deaths is actually poignantly symbolic, capturing the series' key themes and making it a classic.
Based on everything shown so far, Jujutsu Kaisen 3 might very well live up to the tremendous expectations placed on it. Given that My Hero Academia's anime is ending combined with Demon Slayer and Chainsaw Man releasing movies in 2025 as opposed to new seasons, season three of Jujutsu Kaisen is truly holding the weight of Shonen Jump on its back. Still, despite fan division on the quality of the season's biggest arc, the latest teaser image gives fans a good reason to hope that Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 will be one for the ages.
