It's a song Carrie has performed before, but her American Idol number reminded fans of just how talented Carrie is.

Carrie, wearing a silky white, off-the-shoulder gown, and accompanied by gospel singers, brought her powerhouse vocals to the song, hitting every note effortlessly, and causing even the judges' table (especially guest judge Jelly Roll) to be left in awe of her skills. On Instagram, commenters were moved by the performance. An Instagram who goes by HomeOnANashvilleHill wrote, "One of the greatest performances by anyone of all time," while 4heartz26 wrote, "CARRIE JUST WON AMERICAN IDOL AGAIN!!!!"

Some of Carrie's famous friends also ed in on the praise for her song of praise. Country singer Randy Travis commented, "God blesses every song, every note Carrie sings! So pure and so perfect! And Duck Dynasty star Korie Robertson commented, "No words" with a series of praise hand emojis.

Carrie's performance will likely go down as one of American Idol's most memorable.

It brought an element of hope and peace to the stage, and it allowed Carrie to show off her God-given talents. After the song, Carrie spoke about how hard it is to be open about your faith in Hollywood, saying, "I know how difficult it is to come into the entertainment industry and bring your faith with you. It is a brave thing to do because there are a lot of outside forces that are going to tell you not to do that."

Carrie, a mom of two, is a soothing presence at the judges' table, bringing her comionate, maternal energy to the set. Her nurturing nature builds the contestants up, giving them the confidence to advance as she advises them.
