Jennifer Garner’s Elektra will the MCU in Jennifer Garner will be in Deadpool 3 as Elektra. Jackman’s Wolverine and Garner’s Elektra in Deadpool 3 all but confirm that the movie will deal with the multiverse.

Deadpool 3 is shaping up to be a celebration of the FOX Marvel movies, as it is revisiting not only the X-Men films through Wolverine but also the Daredevil and Elektra movies through Elektra. Despite the poor reviews, Daredevil (2003) received a spinoff in 2005 centered on Jennifer Garner’s Elektra. Here are the most important things to about Elektra Natchios in Daredevil (2003) and Elektra (2005) ahead of the character ing the MCU in Deadpool 3.

10 Elektra’s Mother Was Killed When She Was A Child

Jennifer Garner as Elektra Natchios in Daredevil

When audiences are introduced to Elektra Natchios in Daredevil (2003), the character mentions that her mother died when she was a kid. Daredevil does not explain what happened to Elektra’s mother, but it is implied that she was killed due to Nikolas Natchios’ business with the mob. When Wilson Fisk announced he would kill Nikolas Natchios, the Kingpin mentioned how “history repeats itself.” The Elektra movie better explained what happened to Elektra’s mother, revealing that she was murdered by Kirigi, an assassin of the Hand.

9 Elektra Was Trained By Stick

Stick and Elektra in the Elektra movie

The Daredevil movie did not feature Stick, nor it addressed Matt Murdock’s training to become a vigilante. However, Stick appeared in Elektra (2005). The Elektra film revealed that Elektra was trained by Stick, who prepared her and his students to face the Hand. Stick trained Elektra in Kimagure, a style designed to counter the forces of Evil and defeat the Hand. While Daredevil did not suggest that Elektra had supernatural powers, Elektra (2005) established that Elektra could use her Kimagure training to see the future and even resurrect a person. That said, Elektra was not the Treasure that the Hand was looking for.

8 Elektra & Matt Fell In Love (But Didn’t End Up Together)

Elektra Natchios and Matt Murdock met each other during the events of Daredevil (2003). The infamous Matt and Elektra playground fight was the beginning of their relationship, which evolved throughout the movie and almost ended in tragedy. Elektra believed that Daredevil had killed her father, which she only realized was not the case after she unmasked the Man Without Fear. Daredevil’s ending all but confirmed that Elektra was alive, yet she and Matt never reunited on screen. Ben Affleck’s Daredevil didn’t appear in Elektra (2005), and Matt Murdock was not referenced by Elektra at all. Whether Ben Affleck’s Daredevil will appear in Deadpool 3 remains to be seen.

7 Elektra’s Father Was Killed By Bullseye (Working For Wilson Fisk)

Nikolas Natchios in Daredevil (2003)

Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin, hired Bullseye to kill Nikolas Natchios in Daredevil. Ben Urich was close to exposing the existence of a Kingpin of crime in Hell’s Kitchen, which led Fisk to find someone to take the blame. Elektra’s father, who was an associate of Fisk, was trying to get out of the business. However, Bullseye got to Nikolas’ car before he could leave the city with Elektra. While Elektra could not defeat Bullseye and avenge her father, the villain was later killed by Daredevil.

6 Elektra Died In Daredevil (But Came Back)

Elektra dies in Daredevil

Elektra died in Daredevil (2003), sort of. Bullseye stabbed Elektra in the chest, and it seem only logical that she had died. However, at the end of Daredevil, Matt Murdock finds a necklace that only Elektra could have given to him, and it was put there after the night when Elektra supposedly died. Daredevil (2003) does not make clear whether Elektra had actually survived, or if she had been resurrected somehow. Elektra coming back to life is not unusual considering the comics, and this would happen on-screen again years later during Netflix’s The Defenders saga. Elektra’s return would only be explained in Elektra (2005).

5 The Elektra Movie Explained How Elektra Came Back To Life

The Elektra movie confirmed that Elektra died in Daredevil (2003). However, between Elektra’s fight with Bullseye and the end of the film, Stick resurrected Elektra using Kimagure. While Elektra was a mostly self-contained story whose only Daredevil reference was a Daredevil painting on a wall, the film did acknowledge the events of Daredevil (2003). A flashback scene from the night Elektra died sees her in the exact costume she used in Daredevil, for example. In Elektra’s opening sequence, Elektra mentions how she knows what death is like because she already died once. Elektra would later use this resurrection power to bring Abby back to life.

4 Elektra Became A Mercenary After Daredevil

Not much is explained about Elektra Natchios’ life in Daredevil (2003), but it did not seem like she was working as a mercenary during the events of the film. Presumably, Elektra became an assassin for hiring after she died and came back. Elektra (2005) sees Elektra killing with no remorse at the beginning of the film, and it is implied that she has killed dozens or even hundreds of people by that point. Whether Elektra could still be a good person was addressed in the rest of the movie, namely when Elektra had to decide whether or not to kill a father and his daughter.

3 Elektra Faced The Hand In Her Solo Movie

Kirigi and Elektra in Elektra (2005)

The Hand was the main antagonist of the Elektra movie. In this version of Daredevil and Elektra’s story, Elektra was not trained by the Hand and was not directly associated with them. Stick was a sworn enemy of the Hand, and he trained Elektra to one day fight and defeat the Hand. The Hand was looking for the Treasure, a special person with the potential to be more powerful than any other warrior and shift the balance between good and evil. A similar storyline was tackled in Netflix’s Daredevil show as well as in The Defenders. Interestingly, Elektra was not the Hand’s target – Abby was.

2 Elektra Had An Apprentice In Her Solo Movie

Abby in Elektra

Elektra (2005) centered around Elektra having to protect a father and his daughter from the Hand, who for some reason wanted those two dead. Later in the movie, it is revealed that Abby is the Treasure the Hand was looking for. Abby and her dad were aware of it, although their backstories are not really addressed in the movie. Regardless, after refusing to kill Abby and her dad, Elektra reluctantly took the girl as her apprentice. Abby already knew how to fight – she was the Treasure, after all – but she bonded with Elektra in a master/apprentice dynamic. Abby was also trained by Stick.

Composite of Ryan Reynolds Deadpool and Jennifer Garner Elektra

How Jennifer Garner’s Elektra will appear in Deadpool 3 must be related to the multiverse. The MCU’s Multiverse Saga already used the multiverse concept to bring back legacy Marvel characters. This includes Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s versions of Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Home, as well as the Illuminati cameos in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. 's story will likely see Deadpool visiting different universes, similar to how Wade Wilson visited different timelines in Deadpool 2. Elektra (2005) ends with the character saying goodbye to Abby and Mark, and now Deadpool 3 can reveal what happened to Elektra 20 years later.
