Warning: Contains spoilers for Invincible Iron Man #18!!
the Master of Magnetism and Tony Stark just created a ludicrously powerful Iron Man suit, with a mutant heart and Avenger at the helm.
Invincible Iron Man #18 finds the Sentinel Buster brought back to life, thanks to Magneto. Max arrives just in time to help get Tony’s massive suit back online, thanks to a request from Emma Frost, and sends it stomping through Orchis’ remaining Sentinel factories.
Stark failed to complete his Sentinel Buster design before sending it into action, and it was dead in the water without a new power source. Luckily, Magneto has returned to full power after his resurrection, and is willing to help Tony for the sake of destroying Orchis once and for all.
After his recent resurrection, Max is more than capable of acting as the "mutant powerhouse" the Sentinel Buster requires. He positions himself at its heart, forcing it back online and immediately, radically reinforcing mutantkind's position in the war against Orchis in the process.

Since their creation, Sentinels have been a nightmare for mutantkind. They attack relentlessly, and even the base model was capable of ing for and neutralizing most mutant attacks. Stark Sentinels were a major upgrade, as Feilong crafted them with stolen Stark Industries tech. Taking down a single construct is a feat, which puts the Sentinel Buster armor's power into context. Before it ran out of power (and took a major blow), the suit brought down dozens of Orchis’ primary weapons. After Feilong reveals that the Sentinel factories are still online, the Sentinel Buster is the only hope for victory.
Magneto's arrival, in that case, is serendipitous. After his recent resurrection, Max is more than capable of acting as the "mutant powerhouse" the Sentinel Buster requires. He positions himself at its heart, forcing it back online and immediately, radically reinforcing mutantkind's position in the war against Orchis in the process. Subsequently, Tony and Feilong guide the armor through factory after factory until they're forced into a confrontation with Nimrod. As Tony says, the armor "burned bright" even if it did not burn for long, and the team-up between Magneto and Iron Man made it possible.
The final fight against Orchis changed everything, positioning two of Marvel’s most powerful players on the same side for an exhilarating team-up.
The Fight Against Orchis Gave Magneto & Iron Man A Perfect Common Enemy
An Unexpected Team-Up
Max and Tony are unlikely allies, and historically they’re more prone to coming to blows than cooperating. The final fight against Orchis changed everything, positioning two of Marvel’s most powerful players on the same side for an exhilarating team-up. Orchis may have landed several devastating blows against mutants, and turned against the humans who ed them, but it did not for what their enemies were capable of doing together. Magneto and Tony Stark created the most powerful Iron Man armor ever, and their unexpected team-up spells the end of Orchis' Sentinel program.
Invincible Iron Man #18 is available now from Marvel Comics.
