InZOI is one of the most demanding games out there right now, and finding the best balance is about what your hardware can handle and what you can do. The game feels alive, and the graphics are great, but that is because InZOI demands a lot of processing power from your PC. If you want the game to work well, you have to be willing to trade some settings.
I've tested many graphics options and played InZOI to try to see which settings work the best. It's a good idea to test out what your PC does after looking at the settings to scale them. This was tested on an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 on a 1920x1080 monitor, which is pretty basic for games like this, so it should be applicable to the average PC gamer with a reasonably strong setup.
Best Graphics Settings For InZOI On PC
The Settings That Change Your Graphics
The two kinds of settings in InZOI, Graphics, Gameplay, and Simulation, have a big effect on how the game runs. While the graphics will totally change how the game looks, you're going to see a lot more stuttering if your Simulation and Gameplay settings are not set right. Despite hitting major sales milestones, in its early access state, the game isn't quite fully developed enough to give you the best settings by default.

10 Things The Sims 4 Still Does Better Than InZOI
The Sims 4 may have released a long time ago, but the EA game does a lot of things better than InZOI, which was released very recently.
Keep in mind that there's no way to test the graphics without playing the game. Unfortunately, you're just going to have to go back and forth until it works right. FPS doesn't matter as much for simulation games, but keeping the graphics as they are below did not give me any noticeable issues. If you see issues or you think your PC can handle more, feel free to use this as a base and adjust from there.

It's important to understand that not every game needs an FPS higher than 30 or 45. That's important for games where your reaction matters a lot, like fighting or FPS games, but it's not essential to games that don't require high FPS, so you don't need to waste your processing power on it. In a similar fashion to movies and TV recorded or animated at 24 FPS, lower framerates aren't distracting when you're just watching. Unless framerate is always your priority, I wouldn't worry about hitting 60 FPS or above here.
Best Simulation & Gameplay Settings In InZOI
The Settings That Change Your Gameplay
Two more menus have settings that affect stuttering and how InZOI works — Gameplay and Simulation. While these are the differences between the U, GPU, and RAM, you want to keep a good balance with what you're asking your PC to do. Always have balance in your settings and use fans on your tower or laptop. I keep my settings as they are below because the result feels realistic: I never notice a lack of people, and I never lose immersion. In your Simulation menu, adjust the following:
Setting |
What to set it to |
---|---|
Outfit Simulation |
On |
Animation Quality |
3ms |
Do not mess with Animation Quality without knowing what it does. This sets how much time your U has to calculate the animations per frame. This is set to 3ms because you will notice if it's set lower, but not if it's set higher. Setting this higher than 3ms is not something you'll notice unless you're trying to study the movement, which you won't be. Raising Animation Quality will just tank your FPS, and it's not worth it.
Here are the settings to change in your Gameplay menu:
Setting |
What to set it to |
---|---|
Enable Free Will By Default |
Off |
Enable Smart Zoi |
Off |
Applied Range In City |
All Zois In City |
Applied Range on Screen |
Small Group of Zois on Screen |
Queue Limit |

Enable Manual Driving |

Enable Auto Save |
On |
Auto Save Interval |
15 min |
Popup Auto-Close |
Off |
If you want to adjust these for your own gameplay, feel free to. Keep in mind that the above are great just for playing the game, and if you put higher settings, it's going to be harder on your PC. I have noticed a lot of stuttering when I try to push these too far. The game is still in early access, with a lot of things to fix, so it may not even be your fault if it starts acting up.
How To Fix InZOI Performance Issues & Stuttering
What To Do To Fix InZOI Graphic Glitches & Bugs
InZOI has stuttering and performance issues regularly, mostly because of its early access status. The developers have promised InZOI will grow and evolve as the game continues to be developed, but that doesn't mean there's no way for you to fix some of the issues presented to you. Keep in mind that these are temporary fixes, and these issues could go away through regular updates and bug fixes.

Sims Competitor inZOI Is Already Winning Players Over With "Very Positive" Rating On Steam
Life simulation game inZOI, a competitor title to The Sims, releases to glowing reviews from players, receiving a "Very Positive" rating on Steam.
I have noticed that if I play for too long, the game starts getting slower and starts experiencing issues. The best thing to do when you're facing issues that seemingly come up out of nowhere is to restart your computer. That seems like an overused tip, but it has lasted the test of time because your computer is storing so much information temporarily that it likely doesn't need and restarting will clear that information.
I also try not to play with a bunch of other applications running. For example, Epic Games, Grammarly, and messaging software run in the background for me, and you need to go to the bottom right of your taskbar to find background applications like these. Click the arrow pointing up and right-click each application to close it. This should make InZOI run more smoothly, as the application won't be competing for the bulk of your system resources.
