Despite its initial critical and commercial failure, Infinite's cast also included Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sophie Cookson and Jason Mantzoukas, among others.

With some three years gone since the movie premiered on Paramount+, Infinite is now climbing the charts of Prime Video. At the time of writing, the Wahlberg-led sci-fi action movie sits in the No. 2 spot on the streamer's Top 10, only being sured by the Kate Beckinsale-led action-thriller Canary Black, which has similarly been poorly received by critics and audiences, though has yet to garner enough reviews to land a critical score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The remainder of Prime Video's Top 10 chart is an interesting mix of newly released originals for the streamer and movies previously released on other platforms that are now garnering attention on the streamer. This includes The Legend of Vox Machina season 3 at No. 3, buddy comedy Brothers at No. 4, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power at No. 5, Sylvester Stallone's Tulsa King at No. 6, viral hit Terrifier 2 at No. 7, Dev Patel's Monkey Man at No. 8, the live-action Yakuza adaptation, Like a Dragon, at No. 9 and Daryl Hannah-led thriller Blind Revenge at No. 10.

What Infinite's Current Ranking Means For Mark Wahlberg

Audiences Still Enjoy His Films

Wahlberg's career has been rocky with critics, though audiences have been more forgiving of his work. Sure, the actor has had a handful of films that were praised by critics and audiences alike, including 1997's Boogie Nights, 1999's Three Kings, 2010's The Fighter, and 2016's Deepwater Horizon, but he's also had his share of universally received duds. His most recent film, 2024's The Union, was not a hit with critics or audiences, but he's had a string of recent films that were not met well by critics but were found favorable by audiences.

Our Take On Infinite's Prime Video Ranking

Streaming Services Can Give New Life

Mark Wahlberg as Evan looking disinterested sitting in a room in Infinite

Infinite's success on Prime Video proves not only that audiences can be more forgiving than critics, but also that streaming services can be a lifeline for helping films that would have otherwise fallen through the cracks. Yes, Infinite was originally a streaming film, having premiered on Paramount+, but Prime Video has considerably more subscribers, with over 200 million subscribers for Prime Video versus Paramount+'s 68.4 million. Audiences tend to be more forgiving of a film that they stumble upon a streaming service that they're already paying for versus spending an evening out and plunking down more of their hard-earned dollars.
