Ubisoft's open world, action-adventure format put on a colorful new face with the release of exclusive to Google Stadia has now come to PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Series X|S, and PlayStation 4 and 5.
The Immortals Fenyx Rising demo, demo, but not by much. As expected from a demo, and especially one of an open world game, the Immortals demo offers players only a tiny fraction of the whole experience. The entire demo will only take about an hour to complete, maybe two if the whole area is explored.
The demo is a completely separate experience from the full game. The islands and sample quest are unique to the demo, being created specifically for that purpose. Despite it being a purpose-built microcosm, the gameplay of Immortals Fenyx Rising's demo is rather robust, offering a taste of a lot of the mechanics. Players will be inundated with tips popping up on the side of the screen as the game quickly tries to teach how it's played.
The Immortals Fenyx Rising Demo Has Its Own Story
Immortal Fenyx Rising is heavily inspired by Greek mythology and prominently features well-known characters. The demo is narrated by Zeus and Prometheus, who bicker over whether the events of the short story are historically accurate. The player plays as Fenyx, an original character investigating the cyclops from Homer's famous Odyssey, who is mysteriously frozen in the demo's only quest titled "Secret of the Cyclops."
The quest sends the player across an archipelago and offers a taste of everything the full game has to offer. There's a handful of different enemies to fight, and the player has access to some of the early-game combat abilities. A relatively simple puzzle is involved that shows off some of the environmental interactions (think Sheikah Slate abilities in Breath of the Wild).
Although the full game features character customization, players are given a pre-made Fenyx to use in the demo. The main narrative hook in the demo is the fun banter between Zeus and Prometheus, which frequently shifts the narrative, enticing players to see how their relationship plays out in the full game's story. Even though it's a fairly short experience, probably taking players around one hour, the now widely available demo for Immortals Fenyx Rising is a nice quick look at the full experience offered in the actual game.
