Reality TV giant new shows and seasons that TLC has and will be airing.

TLC is now famous for crafting reality TV based on documenting the life of someone with a unique body type. From 1,000-Lb. Sisters to 7 Little Johnstons, these shows follow a similar format, showing the stars' families, the way they interact with the world differently because of their body type, the way others react to them because of their body type, their medical struggles, and of course all the life experiences they have that are just like everyone else. Of course, TLC is also known for airing extreme and oftentimes cringe-y shows, so watching any one TLC show is a gamble.

On Thursday, to show Shauna dating, going out to bars, getting a tattoo, and taking a pole dancing class. "Even though physically I can't grow up, I desperately want to be treated like a grown-up. I am working on my independence," she says in the trailer.

The trailer shows some intriguing moments from Shauna's life. Her mother tells the camera she feels guilty for Shauna's condition. "She will have to go through this for the rest of her life. So all I can do is protect her," her mother says through tears. The trailer also delves into Shauna's dating life, where she says she often attracts "creeps, a--holes, and idiots." A man who is set up on a blind date with Shauna says that when she walked in, he thought he was being Punk'd.

While I Am Shauna Rae doesn't scream potential cringe, and Shauna herself is bound to become a reality TV star, there are many reasons the show might not do well. When watching the trailer, it's hard for anyone to stop themselves from feeling sorry for what Shauna must go through, and that's not a great feeling. Some might also find it exploitative of Shauna's misfortunes. Whether or not this show does well will likely come down to two things: how likeable Shauna is, and whether the interest in her life keeps people from looking away even as they feel bad for her.
