In a battle between the strongest hero on land and the most powerful hero in the ocean, Namor the Sub-Mariner has proven on multiple occasions that he can take down the Hulk. In their various fights over the past six decades, Hulk and Namor have shown to rival each other in displays of pure might. With Namor the Sub-Mariner is stronger than the Hulk and Thor, the Jade Giant began trending on Twitter, with many questioning how the Atlantean hero could possibly beat the Gamma-powered Avenger. However, Namor has shown that he has what it takes to take down Hulk, with three separate matchups showing his fighting prowess. After first fighting Avengers #3, Namor the Sub-Mariner took on the Hulk in Tales to Astonish #100, where Marvel's first mutant hit a brainwashed Hulk so hard that he reverted to his human form of Bruce Banner.
Namor Has Beaten The Hulk Multiple Times in a Fight
That's not even the only time Namor has hit the Hulk so hard with his powers that he's transformed back into Bruce Banner. In Incredible Hulk #118, an underwater battle between a stress-filled Hulk and Namor ends with the pair of heroes colliding so hard that it causes an earthquake in Atlantis and tidal waves that nearly level the surface of the world. While Namor would be briefly knocked out after the collision, he would emerge from the fight as the winner, as Hulk was rendered unconscious and reverted to his human form.
In a matchup of pure strength, is the Hulk stronger than Namor? The answer is yes, unequivocally. However, the Sub-Mariner's powers, fighting skills, and advantage in the ocean have made him the surprise winner of numerous fights against the Hulk. So, yes, Namor can beat the Hulk in a fight - and has done so in style during his storied history in the pages of Marvel Comics.
