Namor #1 has the creative team of Jason Aaron, Paul Davidson, Alex Lins, Neeraj Menon, and Joe Caramagna. War has been ongoing under the sea, while the titular hero has been in prison on land. A preview from Marvel for the issue showcased an attack on the hero by a tentacled creature.
Typically, Namor is known for being a larger-than-life royal figure with a massive ego and an air of arrogance. This series will be a major departure from that, showing him at a very low point in his life.

Namor's Throne Could Be Up For Grabs
Jason Aaron has had a great impact on characters like Thor and the Punisher, making his latest work with Namor extra exciting.
Namor's latest journey is a new aquatic adventure that begins with an assassination attempt, as seven kings are trying to overtake his throne. The sub-mariner has often been seen at odds with his fellow Avengers and Marvel heroes, as they debate the best way to handle situations and balance between the world of land and his underwater kingdom. This issue will shine a light on the conflicts of his kingdom that are looming on the horizon, threatening to attain his royal position, as he reflects on his journey thus far.
Regarding his new work on Namor, writer Jason Aaron says, "For a long time now, I've wanted to do a Namor story like this, something that's very much a dark exploration of one of truest antiheroes, while also serving as a roap and a redefinition of the entire undersea world. In the same way I used The War of the Realms to explore the various lands and denizens of Thor's particular corner of the Marvel landscape, this book is meant to guide us through the various exotic cultures and wondrous locales of the deep sea kingdoms in a way we've never seen before."
Namor's Next Era Could Be Character-Defining
Namor's current story begins with him appearing in great pain. His above-land clothing is a far cry from his usual aquatic wear and costuming, being in jail uniform and unflattering, tattered rags. Namor, the Sub-Mariner will have a long road as he seeks to maintain his throne, figuring his place and stance within the war of the seas ahead. Jason Aaron has had a great impact on characters like Thor and the Punisher, making his latest work with Namor extra exciting.
