Warning! Spoilers ahead for She-Hulk: Attorney At Law episode 1Marvel Studios destroys a baffling Joss Whedon Hulk change in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Disney+ TV series. MCU's eighth Disney+ series introduces Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Ann Walters, a prolific lawyer who accidentally becomes a Hulk after a car mishap with her cousin, Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner. Despite being Walters' origin story, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law also provides new information about the Hulk, answering several lingering questions about the Avenger.
The Hulk was prominently featured in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law episode 1 titled "A Normal Amount of Rage." Much like many Marvel Studios/Disney+ series premieres, the pilot is devoted to setting up the show, which means a lot of exposition. The outing revealed that Banner has been spending time in a remote facility in Mexico that was built for him by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). He also glossed over his work in becoming Smart Hulk. All of this is part of helping Walters come to with the fact that she is now a Hulk as well.
Walters was resistant to her new way of life, and in response Banner tried his best to help to explain to her that transforming into and out of being a Hulk isn't that easy. He then mentioned how Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) used to sing a lullaby to help him return to his human form as seen in Thor: Ragnarok by Thor (Chris Hemsworth) during their Sakaar brawl.
Why Did Natasha's Lullaby Work On Hulk?
The lullaby trick in Avengers: Age of Ultron didn't really have any precedence in Marvel Comics. Since it also wasn't set up beforehand in the MCU, it's still uncertain how it specifically worked in the film. It was a creative choice from Whedon, however, to establish the supposed connection between the Avengers as part of The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
ittedly, the romantic pairing of Hulk and Black Widow, as well as, everything else tied to it in Avengers: Age of Ultron remains one of the divisive parts of the film. Over the years, Marvel Studios have been able to fix some of the movie's story issues via other subsequent projects. Unfortunately, as seen in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law premiere, the unexpected coupling of Banner and Romanoff is something that they cannot find a remedy for.
She-Hulk: Attorney At Law airs new episodes every Thursday on Disney+.
