Players will be upgrading their ship for maximum survivability, damage output, and cargo space. Everspace 2 will have items and upgrades to pick up at every leg of the journey. With a starting cargo capacity of only 18 units, players will be filling it up quickly. The early game will be spent making tough decisions on what to leave behind and what to venture forward with. Thankfully, players will soon be able to carry more with them. This guide will focus on how to increase your inventory space in Everspace 2.

Everspace 2 - How to Increase Storage Space

In the early stages of the game, players will want to travel to the Ceto System and locate the Flying Dutchess Trading Outpost in the Outer Rim area. Here, players will want to purchase a Cargo Unit, which will add +4 to their inventory slots. The catch-22 here is that the Cargo Unit itself takes up one of those slots. Ultimately, Cargo Units will grant players three additional cargo slots. It may not sound like a lot, but those extra slots could be the difference between upgrading the player's ship or becoming scrap metal.

Secondary to granting more storage space, purchasing the Cargo Unit will also give players the ability to dismantle gear found through exploration. There will be plenty of items that players pick up along the way that they won't need. Dismantle them for raw materials, and invest those into further upgrades. This is a process that should be familiar to anybody that's ever played any inkling on an Open-World RPG. Dismantling gear and upgrading carry capacity should be hardwired into their brains.

Every Trading Post will sell one cargo unit. However, the effects do not stack with one another. It is wise to check each Trading Outpost for a rarer Cargo Unit than what is already owned. The rarer the Cargo Unit, the more cargo space it will unlock.

Crafting and cargo space go hand in hand in Everspace 2. To craft, press R (on PC) over a space in the inventory screen. Once the crafting interface is open, players will be able to combine raw materials they've acquired with blueprints they've unlocked. Crafting on its own will grant players unique experience points to invest in learning new blueprints.

Once players have upgraded their cargo space, they'll be able to carry more items, craft more gear, and explore for more extended periods. Players should be stopping at every Trading Post they happen upon and unload any unwanted equipment and supplies.
